Saw this provider March 2023 and presented insurance card from Braven Health. The copay was supposed to be collected during the visit but was not. The claim was sent to BCBS-NJ, closely related to BCBS but NOT THE SAME. I tried leaving voice mails and messages through the website and portal - ALL WERE IGNORED! Finally called main office and transferred to Denville where I spoke with billing and the error was corrected after 3 months of being ignored. My appointment was at Denville. Marano Eyecare has 3 offices; 16 Pocono Road Suite 301, Denville, NJ 07834 200 South Orange Avenue Suite 209 Livingston, NJ 07039 306 Martin Luther King Blvd. Newark, NJ 07102 I suggest that anyone needing eye care stay away from this disrespectful company.

I waited 1 hour and 40 minutes (100 minutes) AFTER my appointment time to be seen by the doctor. I asked twice if there was an update on the wait. They told me that the doctor takes his time with each patient and that they were understaffed and only had one doctor to see all patients. When the doctor came in he spent about 4 minutes with me. He only stopped because I asked questions. He didn't even examine my eyes thoroughly as this was my annual checkup. This experience was extremely disappointing as this office is the only one that takes my insurance. It's located inside of St Michael's hospital with no directions or help to get in and around the building. This was a complete waste of time and now I have to explain to my work why I've been out for 2 and 1/2 hours. This is not an isolated incident as everyone in that office was waiting at least an hour and a half to be seen. Lastly I can only assume that they have a high rating on Google because they constantly harass their patients with text messaging encouraging them to leave five star reviews. When you attempt to leave a grievance it redirects you for an email that is sent to them where they do absolutely nothing to improve how the office functions.

I did not appreciate the long wait at the hospital the appointment was for 8:30 a.m. the doctors took care of me at 4:00 p.m. an entire day which is unreasonable and unacceptable.
