I initially had a consultation with Dr Maulik Zaveri in December 2025 regarding my developing Cataracts and his recommended treatment, as well as his expectations on the results I should expect. He explained my current vision issues in great detail, as well as the approach he would recommend and what he expected could be achieved. I was very impressed by the time he took to clearly explain everything to me, as well as the approach both he and his staff took to thoroughly assess my current vision and the extent of the existing cataracts, as well as retinal membrane issues I am also dealing with, in order to accurately plan the approach he would take. I elected to not only have the cataracts removed, but also to get corrective lenses to reduce the need for glasses. Dr Zaveri's expectation was that he could eliminate the need for glasses for distance vision and that I would only need glasses for reading. I am delighted to say that his expertise resulted in completely achieving all of these expectations. In fact, 2 days after my cataract surgery on the first eye, which was corrected for distance vision, my vision was 20/25 and I was cleared to drive without glasses for the first time ever. The surgery on the second eye a month later was equally successful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Zaveri to anyone needing cataract surgery. He is an extremely talented, personable physician and his entire support staff are equally dedicated to excellent patient care.

Dr Zaveri is a wonderful gem in the medical world. He takes extra time to give understandable, detailed explanations. My cataract surgery went very well. Follow up care was also excellent. In addition to being a very good doctor, Dr. Zaveri is a kind person who cares about his patients. His office co-workers and personnel are friendly, knowledgable and organized.

Dr Zaveri is one of the most impressive Opthamologists I have ever been to and I’ve seen quite a few in my 68 years. I wanted to meet him because of how he managed my husband’s detached retina. We had gone to the ER in Encinitas. The ER doctor called Dr. Zaveri who said he would gladly see my husband in his office. He was booked but could squeeze him in. He diagnosed the detached retina, got him the care he needed with a retina specialist and surgery was done that week. I wanted an Opthamologist like that. My husband is pretty easy going but I am more discerning since I am also in the medical field. I walked into his Torrey Pines Clinic today. It was more like a spa than the chaotic ophthalmology offices I’m used to. I was duly impressed with the staff. They were all knowledgeable and sweet. They actually looked at me when they spoke to me. Dr Zaveri came out early and introduced himself even before the appointment. I had a really good and thorough examination with no discomfort. I’m so happy and grateful to have found this doctor and this office.
