I am very sad to say I will not be returning to this vision center. I had been a customer for the past 3-4 years and didn’t have any issues until recently. I went in for my annual eye exam, had them write out my prescription for me, and went on my way. I tried getting glasses at Walmart (I didn’t like the selection at Meijer) and was told my prescription was incorrect and they couldn’t fill my glasses order. Turns out, Meijer did not put their stamp on my prescription that states “Meijer optical, the address, and phone number.” So I went back to Meijer, and was told there’s nothing they can do. She tried printing me off a copy of my prescription but as it turns out, my insurance covered my visit resulting in a $0 copay, so the entire prescription/exam was NEVER entered into the system. I went back to Walmart with some semblance of a receipt, still no stamp on my prescription. The woman at Walmart optical (who has been amazing through this entire situation) called and asked for them to stamp and fax over the correct prescription. The next day they called me and said there were inconsistencies between the prescription I gave them and the one that Meijer had faxed over. I called Meijer and was told the prescription I was given was for the previous year, not the one I had actually received. I was upset over the phone because of the constant back and fourth and being talked down to in the process. I returned to Meijer to see what was going on. Turns out the woman who wrote out my prescription was looking at my chart from LAST YEAR, not this year, and the one that was faxed over to Walmart was this years prescription. Even though, I was told my left eye was worse this year, but the number on my prescription said it got better? And there were a couple other numbers missing from my prescription that would allow me to receive multi-focal lenses. Without those numbers, I could not get the lenses I wanted/have been told I needed for years. Amber said she would talk to the doctor and give me a call back. She never called back, so I called her. I was told that the doctor had instead wrote a separate prescription for reading glasses. I did not ask nor want two pairs of glasses because the purpose of a multi-focal lens was to have everything in one. The last straw was when she called again and said “The doctor was actually looking at the WRONG FILE. We can go ahead and add those additional numbers to your prescription so you can get the lenses/glasses you wanted.” At that point I refused to go back. Not only was I given the run-around, talked to horribly at times, but the copious amount of things that went wrong because of rushing and focusing more on getting people out the door than making sure it was done correctly no matter the time it took, was enough to send me elsewhere. Not only that, but I was also told at the time of my exam I didn’t owe anything. My insurance is saying I may owe a $75 office visit? I was told “I shouldn’t receive a bill. But if you do, we’ll correct it.” I understand this office lost their supervisor, and many new technicians were circulating in and out, so there will be errors and mistakes. Let alone looking at the complete wrong chart not once, but twice? This was too much for anyone to handle. I chose to get a completely new prescription at a new vision center. Please consider my experience before going here.

Realized I was going to run out of contacts before a trip and was able to get an appointment the same day I called. The doctor explained everything to be and answered all my questions. I did not feel rushed and the office was very clean. Jennifer did an amazing job at ordering the contacts for me while I was still in the chair. Great service and people!
