I had cataract surgery on both eyes. My yearly eye exams are very thorough. I would highly recommend MidWest Eye Institute to my friends and family. Dr Katie H. has great people skills and explains things needed to be understood clearly.

They are very thorough and in my opinion the most knowledgeable about the many different things that can affect vision such as injury, age or genetics. I'll have my cataract surgery in January and I can't wait to see clearly again. Highly recommend to everyone because the staff is amazing.

One month ago I went here to get a chalazion removed. As of today, the bump on my eyelid still looks 100% like it did before I got it "removed". I'm just $200 poorer now. I had a gut feeling this would happen based upon the kind of care I received from Dr. Jaweed. From the moment he walked in the exam room to the moment I left the office, this man did not crack a single smile or ever make me feel calm & comfortable. In the exam room he walked in and immediately looked at the computer while I told him what was wrong. He didn't actually respond to anything I said, so I certainly did not feel my concerns were heard. When it came to move to the room to have the chalazion removed, he invited 4 additional nurses to come in and observe, never once asking me if I was okay or if I was comfortable with that. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves, and he made fun of me in front of all the nurses about being nervous. He was pompous and arrogant the entire time, but I chose to follow through because I really wanted the bump gone. After the surgery he rushed me out the door with no guidance other than "Any Questions"?. I don't know if I did something to offend Dr. Jaweed, if he was in a bad mood, or if that's just the way he is, but I can guarantee you I'll never go back to him or this facility again.
