After coming here for 2 years back in 2019 I thought it strange that what they had billed my insurance was a lot more than before for the same service as always. The staff couldn’t explain and the “office manager” (his wife) very rudely tapped me on my back so that she could tell me to hang up the call I was on with the insurance! Needless to say, I never went back and after the fiasco they had in 2020 about over billing patients it was clear to me what was going on and may explain why suddenly my bill surged $50! Sad to know I was part of the reason for the hideous faux greenery down Bartlett in my neighborhood. My advise….stay away!

“If I could give zero stars I would...
After visiting Eye Mora Clinic for a second time 10/14/2022, I recommend and implore everyone seeking eye care: “Do not get robbed of your hard-earned money and provide more business!”
I was mistreated and disrespected by the staff. One of the female assistants abruptly placed eye exam equipment to my face and had poor hygiene, her hand smelled bad (they do not wear gloves). They are confrontational and try to shut you down when addressing them about their poor professionalism. I was completely ignored by Dr. David Mora after informing him about how unprofessional his staff was and that I was still not able to see with the eye contact prescription he had given me last time. He stated his eye exam equipment gives the data needed to prescribe eye contacts, so because it’s a machine, there couldn’t be something wrong with the prescription and that is how I got a trial of eye contacts; but I never did. I told Dr. David Mora that in my last visit one female assistant snatched them off my hand because I had asked her if they matched the eye contact prescription, she said: “One of them is not, it’s only an approximation, but you won’t even notice it”. To what I responded: “Well ma’am then they are no use, I am still no going to be able to see. You don’t go to a shoe store being a size 6 and order a shoe size 6 for one foot and an 8 for the other foot, right?”. Then she snatched away the pair of trials off from my hand and said: “You don’t want them? Okay”. Dr. Mora ignored my feedback regarding his staff and decided not to proceed with the exam. He told me he would not see me anymore, basically blacklisted me and did not provide a refund for the eye contacts that I purchased based off of his prescription. Not only that, but Mrs. Mora also charged at me (tried to physically attack me), trying to defend her husband: “I will not allow you to disrespect my husband!”. Luckily my husband accompanied me to the appointment and was able to keep her away from me. After, mentioning out loud to my husband if things escalated, I would need to call the cops, Mrs. Mora overheard and decided to sit and talk. After flaunting that Dr. David Mora had been in business for the past 45+ years and that she used to be a nurse 20+ years and their daughter was in medical school to become an eye doctor, dissecting the problem (poor professionalism on behalf her staff) that lead us to have a conversation, she said: “My husband will not see you anymore because you disrespected him”.
It is unbelievable that as a patient I was treated with poor professionalism, almost physically attacked, and blacklisted just because of speaking up and asking for respect. It doesn’t matter how many diplomas, recognitions they have hanging up in the lobby, none of that reflect that they have learned how to properly treat a patient, they just care to bill the patient. I think they have forgotten that they are able to make a living based off running insurances from their patients who are looking for a good service. We, patients require of an efficient medical service, but they rather act egocentric and forget about manners, values of how to politely treat another human being, a patient.
After researching Dr. David Mora I came across with this: Laredo eye doctor pays over $3M to resolve fraud claims | USAO-SDTX | Department of Justice ( I wish I would have been aware of this prior visiting the Eye Mora Clinic).

I was looking to book an appointment, because my vision seems to have changed recently and everyone recommends this doctor. Although within the first two google search results I find a link to the United States Department of Justice. This physician recently payed over 3 million dollars to “resolve Medicare fraud claims” brought by The U.S. Attorneys Office. This seems like a very generous slap on the wrist for putting vulnerable patients through “medically unnecessary tests and procedures”. I’d say this doctor has lost all credibility and should no longer have the ability to practice as patients are only seen as gateways to dollar signs. The healthcare in this city is already in shambles and now even our eyes aren’t safe. Dirty practice.
