Optometrist was great-Mr. Martin. Most of the staff are extremely rude, especially the younger long-haired blonde lady at receptionist desk. She was very argumentative and rude when I voiced concerns about my glasses! They gave me the wrong prescription for another pair of glasses and then I had lenses put in another pair of glasses that had to be sent several times back to the shop to correct a problem. Quality of customer service is very poor overall. Poor selection of glasses. Will not be returning here! This establishment received 2 stars for the older lady with short hair who gives out the glasses when they are ready was extremely nice and Dr. Martin.

I have been going here for a few years now and every single time I’ve been in they have gone SO above and beyond what they have to that it is truly spectacular! I have never in my life been to a better optometrist, and if it’s at all within my power I will never switch. I would go to war for these women! They’ve helped me with screwing an arm back on, replacing a broken nose pad, helping me with understanding using my protection plan, and even giving me advice to help me find glasses that suit my face, all for free! I truly cannot even express how phenomenally kind they are, and I have never experienced greater customer/patient service anywhere else. And all of the doctors I’ve seen are just as friendly and helpful! This isn’t a paid review or anything, as I never typically do reviews, but they have more than earned the recognition!! I wholeheartedly recommend anyone come here if they are able. And the interior is the prettiest doctor’s office I have ever seen! Not that that’s totally relevant, but I can’t say it’s not a wonderful perk!

Personally I don't think I will be back to this location. I have have had my eyes checked with myeyedr before and I used to really enjoy my visit. What kept me going back and specifically searching for this company and making sure my insurance took it was because in the past they have offered same day or next day glasses. Which compared to places like America's best was a huge plus. I also live on the road for work so making appointments is especially difficult since I can only get in on the weekends. I did get to my appointment 10 minutes late and from other reviews I was glad to have not had certain members of staff. Although I didn't really feel they were okay with it either and definitely felt talked about amongst the staff. The 2nd tech with the green hair that would take me before the doctor saw me was passive aggressive he was asked if he would still take me because I was late and while he did he definetly made it clear he wasn't happy he had to. Which if he couldn't or didn't want to I would've gone somewhere else another time. He told me "well I had to set all this back up because you guys were late" He also asked me what I needed my glasses for and said "well you won't get your lenses for 10 days so you won't have them on time" (which was also said with a "your an idiot" tone) This takes me back to "seeking out my eye drs because of there quicker turn around time on lenses statement. Honestly if I didn't need the exam I would've walked out. I live 40 minutes away and was hoping because this location had slightly better reviews than the way closer location that I might have a better experience. I wanted to make sure whoever was taking care of my eyes knew what they were doing. I also really do not like the video call dr. The Dr herself was very kind but it was hard to hear her which made my ability to ask questions harder. On top of she only talked to me for not even a minute. Not being seen by a Dr in person made me feel more rushed and anxious. I didn't end up asking any questions and felt I would've been able to had I felt less nervous. I was already incredibly nervous because I hadn't had an eye exam in a few years due to insurance and felt bad enough for being late. I have pretty bad health anxiety so being literally scolded and talked to like I was dumb made it a less than ideal experience. I didn't end up purchasing any glasses and opted to just take my prescription and try my shot at online.

I had my first visit at the Oakwood location last week. The entire staff was super welcoming and kind. Kailey in the optical shop stole the show for me though. She was able to help me pick frames that were outside my comfort zone (which is exactly what I was going for, after wearing some version of basic black frames for decades), and within about 10 minutes- and for me, that was HUGE. I am admittedly one of the most indecisive humans on the planet. Excited for the new specs to come in!

Honestly, overall great experience! When I called to book my exam the receptionist was so sweet and answered all of my questions about insurance and how much I would have to pay for my glasses. When I came in for my exam I was greeted by friendly staff and a warm office environment. Everyone was happy and kind, friendly and joking with each other. My exam was with Dr Gridley, I think he's one of the best eye doctors in the Dayton area, so friendly and thorough! Ordering my glasses with the girls out front was so fun! The girl with the long blonde hair helped me pick the perfect frame and she was so nice! I will definitely be coming back to this office next time I need and exam and glasses!

I only jumped to My Eye Doctor for Dr. Barry Gridley but it has been a rough change. The lady who fits the glasses is very brash and unpleasant most days. She doesn't listen and writes everything off as an opinion despite factual proof (defective glasses, burn marks around ears) and in our most recent visit, made an extremely rude comment to my daughter. I will not be back. Dr. Gridley has retired and she has pushed my last button. I thought it was a racial thing but another person in the waiting area has told me she's like that with her at times too. No thanks. I have a hard enough time being Melaninated American in Oakwood as it is.
