We have been visiting Dr. Klaus’s office for a while and have always had a good experience. My mother came in for a checkup, and we were told her eyes needed to be dilated. Claudia helped us first, and she was very kind, attentive, and professional. We truly appreciated the way she treated my mother. After Claudia was done, another young lady named Alex, an Asian young lady, came in and took us to another room to dilate my mother’s eyes. I could tell she may not have been having the best day, but unfortunately, her attitude and patience were not what we expected. While she was trying to position my mother in the chair, my mother was uncomfortable and could not maintain good posture. Then Alex took a long time to check the pressure in my mother’s eye, and my mother was in pain from the bright light. When we asked why it was taking so long because it was hurting her eye, Alex replied, “Unfortunately, that’s how long it takes.” After my mother could no longer tolerate the light, Alex said she would give her a break. I mentioned that we had never had to go through the process for that long before. Alex then responded, “I’ll get somebody else to do it then,” and walked away. The experience felt rushed, impatient, and not very compassionate, especially considering my mother’s discomfort. Thankfully, Claudia came back in and completed the same process in less than a minute. Claudia was very helpful and professional, and we truly appreciate her care. We always enjoy seeing Dr. Klaus and have never had an issue with the office before, but I wanted to bring this situation to your attention because the way Alex handled my mother’s care was disappointing.
