Excellent staff, very friendly and well trained. The clinic is well equipped. but!!! This place doesn't value your time. I came to an appointment that was scheduled for 11:00am. As a result, I got to the doctor at 1:35pm. 2.5 hours of waiting negates any good attitude!

This was hands down the worst experience I have ever had at a doctors office. I have a medical eye condition that requires special contacts. I called my insurance and was referred there. I went for the exam and was told by then that my insurance does not cover this and was charged 2k which as you can imagine is a lot and will put me in a bad financial situation. But I can’t see without it. The next day I called my insurance and they told me that they do in fact cover this 100%. I called the office to correct the mix up and was talked down to by a receptionist who told me this was cosmetic which I said was a lie because it was a medical condition. The receptionist got nervous because she knew I caught her in a lie and had the office manager call me. The manager said that it’s office policy to CHOSE not to bill insurance for this. That even though they are in network they have the right to not use insurance for select things . Then I was told that they will only give me back my 2k when they get paid. Which could be 8 weeks. Essentially holding my money hostage. Then I was told they would put in for the contacts. I was assured by the office manager that “I know what I’m doing” A week later my insurance called me and tells me they cancelled the entire order and refunded me the 2k. Which they did not. After I confirmed this with the insurance I called my card to cancel the transaction. So I waited another week for contacts I will never get and need to start all over again somewhere else. This is called medical fraud and had them reported to my insurance. DO NOT GO TO THEM!!!! If you have bo choice. Know your rights!! Call your insurance and make sure what you need is covered before you pay anything because they will take any chance to con you

Julia Giyaur is a great doctor. I've had a bunch of different problems with both eyes. When Dr. Giyaur did cataract surgeries, each of my eyes required not only a lot of tests and measurements, but also a big deal of intuition coming from her huge experience. She is knowledgeable, skillful and compassionate. What makes her different from most of the doctors is that she does not concentrate only on a particular narrow problem. Dr. Giyaur cares about one's eyes and vision all in all. I am so grateful to Dr. Giyaur! I also have only good things to say about staff in NY Laser Vision, from manager to receptionists. They helped me a lot with ridiculous paperwork demands from flexible spending account, insurance, work-from-home letters. Thank you Natalie and the whole team of New York Laser Vision!
