I had a wonderful experience at Northern Virginia Doctors of Optometry in Alexandria! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm and professional staff. A big thank you to Lanisha and Roxanne at the front desk for being so helpful, the gentleman who assisted with my eye exam for his professionalism, Dr. Park and Dr. Smithson for their excellent care, and the MVP, Mr. Roy, for going above and beyond to help me find the perfect frames. This team truly makes you feel valued as a patient. I highly recommend them!

I had an exceptional experience working with Tommy Maunakea who helped me find the perfect glasses for cycling and other outdoor activities. He was patient with me and ordered frames I wanted to try after realizing I needed a little more coverage than what was available on hand. The final product far exceeded my expectations and that only happened through Mr. Maunakea’s guidance. It is very difficult to find sport frames that can accommodate my kind of prescription…plus transitions, plus progressives. I have now used them for multiple rides and have found the tint to be perfect and with absolutely no glare. I can see much better on the road now and they look great! So grateful!

Dr. Smithson is excellent. He has been my optometrist for 15+ years. He is well informed and has seen me through all the changes in my eyesight and eye health as I have aged. He spends as much time as needed each appointment and explains everything well. He answers all my questions thoroughly. He is very personable and kind. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Shedler is the best. She was able to see me on short notice, assuaged my concerns about the floaters I was unexpectedly experiencing and did all of this with great compassion and care.

Dr. Smithson was wonderful. My son had an eye injury and even though he was not yet a patient of his practice, he agreed to see him right away (after 4:00!). He was thorough, professional and took excellent care of my son.
