I recently visited Ophthalmology Associates of Greater Annapolis and, despite the commendable skills of the doctor, my overall experience was far from satisfactory. The efficiency of the office seems to be severely lacking, overshadowing the positive aspects of the medical care. My appointment was scheduled for 11 am, and I arrived promptly at 10:50 am, expecting a smooth and timely process. However, to my dismay, by noon, not a single staff member had acknowledged my presence or provided any information about the status of my appointment. The lack of communication and organization was disconcerting, to say the least. The waiting room was filled with patients, all seemingly in the same boat—left in the dark about the progress of their appointments. The atmosphere was one of confusion and frustration, as patients exchanged bemused glances while the clock continued to tick away. The disregard for punctuality and the apparent lack of a streamlined process for managing appointments were major turn-offs. While I understand that medical offices can be busy, a 1.5-hour wait without any communication or updates is simply unacceptable. It became apparent that time management is not a priority at Ophthalmology Associates of Greater Annapolis. Regrettably, my experience was so unsatisfactory that, after hours of waiting without any indication of when I might be seen, I decided to leave. This experience left me with the impression that the office is poorly managed and lacks respect for its patients' time. If you have a penchant for extended wait times and enjoy the uncertainty of when you might actually see the doctor, then Ophthalmology Associates of Greater Annapolis might be the perfect fit for you. However, for those who value their time and expect a more organized and efficient experience, I would advise exploring other options in the area.

Dr Avallone is the Mr Rogers of eye doctors. He is truly gifted to put nervous or shy kids at ease and speak to them respectfully and honestly. He also put me at ease when I was anxious about my daughter's eye surgery. He's a treasure and we're so grateful for him! The whole team is gentle and supportive.

I have extreme anxiety and have had a few unpleasant experiences with doctors and procedures that have left me feeling vulnerable and apprehensive in the past…Thankfully that was not the case here. I had minor eye surgery (major for me) that went so smoothly with this awesome group of ladies; every single nurse, doctor, technician and staff member was outstanding, personable and kind. I was welcomed, made comfortable, respected, supported and medically cared for from start to finish. They indulged my humor, answered my questions and continued to communicate with me throughout the entire process which is very important to me. I highly recommend them, especially to those who suffer from anxiety. T’was a peaceful experience I will remember fondly!
