I came to the Kaiser Oakland Optical Center on a Saturday afternoon after a salon visit to obtain Medicare covered eyewear after post-cataract surgery two months ago. The optician who assisted me was Israella (Izzy) Anders. I brought my own frames which I purchased from ebay since I have a very narrow face and I was able to find a perfect fitting frame from a German eyewear seller on ebay. Izzy was very knowledgeable about my Medicare coverage and was able to expertly apply the benefits to my total purchase price in a matter of minutes. I was very happy with my visit and with Ms. Anders’ expert care I was able to complete my purchase in no time and enjoy the rest of a sunny afternoon.

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Kris welcomed me with a warm smile and made sure I was taken care of right away, while Muoi provided exceptional care by explaining everything clearly, understanding my needs, and helping me choose the perfect frames. They were both professional, kind, and made the entire process easy and enjoyable. I truly appreciate their outstanding customer service and highly recommend them!

I wouldn’t even give stars if I could. I checked in to my appointment 20mins early (checked in @ 2:50 & appt @ 3:15). I sat in the lobby for 20mins (until 3:35). No one called me up to try & get my glasses fitting. I also had a contact lens fitting right after my glasses fitting. After sitting for so long & seeing everyone who checked in after me get called up, I stood in line & told the receptionist to just check me in for my contact lens appointment, since no one wanted to assist me with my glasses fitting. Safe to say I will NEVER order glasses at that location ever. Then I over heard the receptionists saying that someone cancelled my check in which is wild to me. & I guess the optical dispenser lady called my name & didn’t even sound sympathetic when she was apologizing. Just horrible service overall. They had a few workers not doing much, keeping up with the scores of the FIFA & not even acknowledging if there were anyone who have been sitting in the lobby or if any help is needed.

This place is always the very worse experience! Be ready to wait on hold for 30+ minutes when trying to get any type of care even when told to follow up with your doctor ( who will give you no way to contact them or ask follow-up questions). I seriously have so much anxiety ever time I deal with them because it is always a nightmare! Yu can never get an appointment in a timely matter, there are always mistakes. Desperate for new contacts, been trying to figure out my prescription since November! They have managed only time to see me twice with over a month between follow ups and each prescription they give me is awful. As I am writing this I am 28 minutes on hold. So unprofessional and shameful. Needed to add that after over 30 min on hold the receptionist immediately hung up. Just amazingly horrible!!!

Prescription for glasses were correct but had to return three times because they were not properly filled. I decided to get a refund and to go elsewhere.

Given I was filling my prescriptions glasses during the COVID epidemic, the service was well-organized and efficient. I was able to find reasonably priced & attractive frames with the assistance of the staff. I received my new glasses in a very short time. The glasses were accurately made and the staff provided necessary adjustments to ensure that they fit properly. I have used this service for years and will continue to.
