My entire experience was great. Dr. Chan and Tamina (sp) at registration were kind and patient. The visit was quick and my glasses will be ready faster than I anticipated. I absolutely recommend Dr. Chan and Dublin Optometry.

My in-laws have been visiting Dr. Chan for about 2 years now. He’s personally a pretty friendly doctor and did all the eye exams very patiently. However, it’s very difficult for them to get the prescribed glasses on time and there’s absolutely no status update on it. More often than not, no one answers calls and when they do, there’s no update. It’s been over 8 weeks now and only one pair was ready for pickup. They don’t pickup calls and so leaves us with no option but to pay a visit and find out ourselves. Not even sure if their office would be open. Very dissatisfied with their service.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr.Roger because he was listed as an in-network provider through my Alameda Alliance Medi-Cal insurance. Before my appointment, I called the office and specifically asked whether my insurance would cover a contact lens fitting for astigmatism and presbyopia. The receptionist told me that it would, so I scheduled the visit. When I arrived, I was disappointed by the condition of the office. There were papers and patient files stacked throughout the office, including on the floor, sitting area, receptionist desk. The overall environment appeared cluttered and disorganized. Even the eyeglass displays were untidy, which did not inspire confidence. Patients information was displayed at eye view. The appointment itself was even more disappointing. After I explained that I was there for a contact lens fitting, Dr. Roger immediately insisted that his office had never billed my type of insurance for contact lens fittings and repeatedly argued with me about my previous insurance coverage instead of listening to my explanation. I tried to explain that I have previously received medically necessary contact lenses through my insurance, and I had already confirmed with Alameda Alliance that this benefit is still available when medical necessity criteria are met. However, I was not given an opportunity to explain before being interrupted. The doctor also insisted that the colored toric contact lenses I was wearing could not exist. In reality, I was wearing custom colored toric lenses at the appointment, so I found this surprising. He then asked which receptionist had told me my insurance covered the fitting, despite having only one receptionist in the office. Instead of feeling heard, I felt dismissed and discriminated against. My concerns were not taken seriously. I left without receiving the care I had scheduled the appointment for, and the visit ended up being a complete waste of my time. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I will never recommend this office. Office visit 7/30/2026 at 3pm

Stay away you will never get your glasses. We ordered glasses outside after waiting for 8 weeks and the power of glasses is not correct and had to return the glasses.

I found this clinic for my husband based on the positive Google reviews. He has been wearing glasses for many years and has seen different doctors in the United States, Canada, and other places. Unfortunately, the last time he went to Costco, he was given the wrong prescription, which caused his eyes to be under strain for several months. Today, however, he was very pleased with his visit. The doctor spent about an hour with him, carefully examining his eyes and correctly diagnosing the problem. He is extremely knowledgeable and precise, and you can truly appreciate his level of expertise during the consultation. We are very grateful for the care and attention he provided.

Dr. Chan was very professional and at the same time personable. This was my first visit, and I was very pleased with his service. He listens to all questions and is informative and makes sure that your questions are answered. I have county medical insurance, that he accepted and also accepts many other types of insurance. Even the customers that were there and the ones that came in behind me were respectful and they all spoke as I came in and the ones behind me as well. It's a very comfortable environment. Since this was my first eye exam ever, I was a little nervous, but the Dr. And the atmosphere were very relaxing. Thank you Dr. Chan! You do excellent work!

Worst optometry in east bay. I do not know where they order from, they commit two weeks, but prescription glasses come in more than 8-10 weeks. No communication and correspondence from staff on status update. People with insurance please go to any other optometry.

I went to Dr. Chan for many years when I lived in Dublin and he is a great optometrist. He was always very friendly and took the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly.

Dr. Chan is very kind, patient and helpful. He visited My parents last month they can’t speak English well, Dr. help them and they were very grateful. Today, I got the glasses, when I got there store was closed but Dr. Was still there he opened the door and accepted us very warmly and friendly. Sorry Dr. To bother you after hours and thank you so much.

Dr. Chan is so helpful with my questions and is very thorough. And I enjoy my appointments very much as Dr. Chan has a patient, healing presence.

Dr Chan is always super friendly and upbeat, and is always completely up front and very fair about costs of anything. My insurance changed and I can no longer go out of network to be with him but I wish I could go back!
