I have been coming here for many years, and have been to numerous doctor's offices, but today was the first time I saw a person go crazy on the staff members, demanding to have the doctor pulled out of the exam room and then threaten to leave a 'crucifying' review on google if they didn't issue an immediate refund. By the looks of it - that patient did leave that review despite the girl at the front taking back the products. I have to say the staff handle the situation extremely well! I can tell the staff was shaken up but they continued on their day giving me and other patients their full attention and not letting that patient affect their work. Dr. Atie is an amazing doctor who had treat all sorts of medical conditions for my family including glaucoma and diabetes for my parents and even caught a tumor that the 'ophthalmologist' missed. I don't care what anyone says, the level of treatment you get here surpasses everywhere else! I hope they don't give into this crazy person and continue doing what they do best. And I hope this review helps out too!

I’m very disappointed. I went to see DrAtie for new eyeglass prescription &attempted to pay with my cal optima insurance. Dr.Atie is an optometrist, not an opthamologist. Not a medical eye doctor. She still tried to diagnose me with a medical eye issue. She also expected me to pay for the “treatment “ for said eye issue out of pocket even though I came to the appt using my vision insurance. I felt that seemed deceptive so After my appt I contacted my medical insurance to sort out why I was expected to pay out of pocket for “medical grade eye drops. I then found out that since she’s an optometrist not OPTHAMOLOGIST, it’s against the law for her to diagnose me with any medical issue. So, after Learning that , I went back to her office. She refused to speak to me after I explained what my insurance company had told me. She instead had her staff stonewall me and humiliated me by talking down to me In the waiting area so everyone had to listen to me try to explain that I needed a prescription to take to the pharmacy. Also during the appt while I was trying to use my insurance to pay for my glasses Her staff just kept trying to convince me to purchase Armani designer eyeglass out of pocket. Every time I attempted to ask her about the frames covered by my vision plan she just kept trying to call my attention to the more expensive pairs that my plan doesn’t cover. She also tried to convince me to get the most expensive lenses that again my plan wouldn’t pay for. Before I left my appointment I again attempted to get further clarification on how to get reimbursed through insurance for the treatment drops bc I assumed it was part of the appt so that should mean my insurance covers it at the appt. They still expected me to pay out of pocket. I also didn’t get a physical copy of my new prescription so I had to waste my time going back the next day. Just about the worst optometrist appt. And She denied she had given me a medication or treatment for the eye issue she diagnosed me with. I think she is balance billing her Cal optima patients( making them pay out of pocket for unnecessary issues in order to get more money- the money Cal Optima isn’t providing) in order to line her pockets. And that is fraud. she DID state to me that I needed these items to cure a medical issue. If she were honest she should have told me that she is only able to prescribe glasses, as an optometrist, but she is not an OPTHAMOLOGIST, an actual Medical eye doctor. She also didn’t allow me to ask questions about why I would be required to pay out of pocket, nor did she tell me why she wasn’t giving me a prescription for it. So she did a lot of double talk yes it’s a “ treatment” - “ but it’s Not a medication,”I looked it up online and does require a prescription-I called my insurance when I got home and they acted immediately to get me a prescription to my pharmacy and to conduct a fraud investigation, if you want to go see this practice just know your rights and the laws. As an update, I was able to file a grievance, and I guess my insurance called the office to let them know they will be investigated. They decided at that point to provide me the refund. When I went in today to get my refund, the staff Anna, the one who tried to get me to buy out of pocket glasses, attempted to pull me into a verbal confrontation about my posting this review. she said " your review is out of line, it's out of line" INSTEAD of giving me my refund, she asked me to come by to confront me. What kind of psycho do you have working for you Dr.s? I reported her aggressive inappropriate behavior to my insurance again. It's not out of line to tell the truth. I guess she wanted me to retract this review but I will not, if it' saves other people time, the hassle and money. this place just sucks.

Great service! I have come here for a few years now, and made the switch from another optometrist because I felt like Dr. Mike and Dr. A (I've seen both) really took the time to explain things to me and didn't rush me out the door, which is unique. Anna was great at helping me pick out my frames, and I get compliments on them all the time! Definitely recommending this place to anyone who is looking for a 5 star optometrist!
