I've been buying from and having eye exams with Pearle Vision in Jax Beach for many years. I knew they were over-priced but the location was convenient when I started there and they did a good job with progressive eyeglasses. Recently, however, I was stunned by their blatant attempt to scam me! During the exam the doc asked if I'd be willing to wear contacts for 15-20 minutes in the store and provide feedback. No charge of course unless I decided to buy the lenses. Fine. But after wasting my time for those many minutes, I was told that if I bought the lenses there would be an additional $80-$100 fee on top of the price of the product and on top of the cost of the eye exam - for "evaluation and fitting" of the lenses. I actually laughed at first and rephrased this to make sure the woman at the desk had actually said what she did! When I balked, the salesman ridiculously responded, "we try to give our customers all of the options", whatever that means and "of course if you don't pay for the fitting and evaluation we won't give you the prescription." What? I had never expressed an interest in wearing lenses but the doc thought I'd be a perfect candidate and I thought, well, what do I have to lose? Time I can never get back, for one thing. And, candidate for what? A flagrant rip-off? They surely thought I was either stupid or incredibly gullible. Or did they simply decide that a senior citizen is an easy target? Pearle Vision should be ashamed of using such tactics.

This morning I went to Pearle Vision in Jax beach to get my eyes checked and I met Rachel who assisted me in dealing with my situation. She checked all my 5 pair of glasses. She was kind and considerate and April was very helpful as well!

Dr. T, Rachel and the entire group at the Jacksonville Beach location provide outstanding service. One Saturday morning as I was getting accustomed to contacts and was worried I had injured my eye trying to get one out, they worked me right into an Exam room where Dr. T took great care to make sure I was good and also to know I could come back anytime I had an issue. I'm not sure I've ever had a level of concern and service that reaches that level of performance. If you need an eye exam take the time to schedule one with Dr. T and his team. Outstanding and excellent aren't strong enough to describe the group.
