Excellent, hard working staff, expert doctors with copious education and experience. They explained everything to me and walked me through all the steps to get from sight difficulties through a smooth and painless cataract procedure with great results. I have a new lease on living a full life. Highly recommended.

Gave insurance info, my info, said I was all set. This was in June 2023. They gave me an appointment for Sept 19 2023. Today Sept 5 2023, (2 weeks before my appointment), they call me and tell me the surgeon does not accept my insurance. So they told me another surgeon in thier office does. I ask how long before I can get another appointment? She states tomorrow morning at 9 am or I have to wait until the end of December..I took the next day appointment only to be called back 20 minutes later saying we're sorry but that doctor is no longer doing cataract surgery. The solution is, they can't help me
I am some angry that they never told me in the beginning this surgeon did not accept my insurance after waiting for this appointment since June. If this is how they operate thier business. I guess I should be lucky they did not work on my eyes

This office is a mess, and the doctor is very outdated. He does all his notes on paper still, nothing is digital, the office is a mess of stacked papers and notes. It's chaos. I've been dealing with billing issues stemming from them not handling paperwork in a timely manner, partly because of the non-digital system and my file not being given to the right people. The office staff and billing staff give different answers from each other.
Dr. Perlmutter is nice, but doesn't communicate issues very clearly. He also gets upset if you see a different doctor in the practice, which I had to do with an injury and the office staff sent me to the Clifton Park office (which is way more organized and modern).
The Albany office is always running 40 minutes late, and the waiting room is fairly disgusting as well. Its dimly lit, and doesn't give a great impression. When you add that to the lack of technology and paper files, it's like it never left the 80s.
I ultimately can't recommend this office. Their Clifton Park office seemed much better.
