Avoid the McCormack Ranch location! Went there for a glaucoma test (the second one I might add, the first one was done at the other Scottsdale location which seems suspicious to me when asked to come back in a month for the second test) and was seen by an Optometrist (I won’t post his name here but it his last name starts with S) who spent 2 minutes with me, explaining nothing except my left eye is worse than my right, handed me some eye drops and sent me on my way. The eye drops burned my eyes, with stinging so bad I could hardly open them. When I complained, they sent in a prescription for another type which would have cost me $400. When I advised that was unsustainable, I was told to come back to their office to pick up a sample and sent on my way again. No thank you to Petelin Vision. I’ve since done my research and will see a glaucoma specialist at the Eye Physicians and Surgeons of AZ. I’m on my way to pick up my records and will never set foot in any Petelin Vision location again.
4/17 Here to pick up my medical records which on Friday was told it would be easy to secure by just signing a release form. Now the young woman behind the desk is telling me I have to wait 10 days (no doubt she saw that I’m transferring my service to another provider). NOT HAPPENING. I’m waiting right here until I receive them in their entirety.
It took them 5 minutes. Also make sure you check to ensure they give you all your records if you need them. They “forgot” to give me the most important of all, the glaucoma test. Good thing I checked before leaving here.
One last important addition: The notes from Dr S on these records under “Impression/Plan are laughable. None of this discussion took place! There was no “counseling” session performed with me whatsoever.

VISUAL FIELD TEST DONE IN TOTALLY OPEN ROOM WITH NO DOOR = HIPA VIOLATION:
Office has been "remodeled". Visual Field test is now done in totally open room (no door = no privacy). In addition, a 2nd patient and 2nd staff member entered the totally open room DURING my test. I was highly distracted and had difficulty concentrating on my in progress test. In addition, I heard private information (name, date of birth, etc.) for second patient during my test. I believe this is a HIPA violation.

The medical care is excellent BUT the scheduling staff (who you spent 90% of your time dealing with) is HORRENDOUS. For my mother's post cataract surgery care they: tried to changed the appointment date at the last minute, lied about the reason for the change, did not return calls, gave us the wrong location for an appointment when we called and got a hold of someone, and repeatedly just gave excuses rather than fixing the issue. Frankly, while the medical staff is great, the front office staff needs to be replaced. And the lights in the Hayden location are just awful, even for people that didn't just have eye surgery.
