Got a contact exam here and they didn’t have mine in stock so gave me a similar pair but not the right prescription. It was just a little off but the blurry spot it caused in focusing gave me some sea sickness after 10-12 hours.
After 11 days they still don’t have my contacts (clerical errors confused themselves and they never ordered). So I go to Sams to get a pair in the right prescription to get me by. They won’t release my prescription.
I call them and explain. Still won’t release until I come in. I’ve gotten contacts before. When I get the exam I leave with a prescription in hand, never, ever has that been an issue. In this case I asked for one. He said Sure! and wrote me one for glasses.
When I called I was very upset and said I paid for a prescription and I expect to have it. The woman on the phone seems to understand and goes and talks to the doctor. He refuses and she says they have no prescription for me - I ask how they decided what contacts to give if there is no prescription? How did I get an exam for a contact fitting and there is no prescription available for me? What did I pay for (out of pocket because they don’t take insurance).
A patient advocate calls me a few minutes later offers me some free contacts and seems very worried that I feel I paid for a prescription and am not getting one. I suspect there is some strong legal problems in that and why I suddenly got offers for lots of free contacts and care. They are now super happy to “finalize” my prescription and send it anywhere I want. The advocate, like the front desk, was reasonable. The road block here seemed to consistently come from the doctor.
In the end I think the big deal is he was trying to force me back in to buy my contacts there and gas lighted me with a “follow up” appointment and hard refusal to release the prescription I paid for. It’s clear why they don’t accept insurance anymore and why the walk in service is so fast - I certainly won’t be walking back in.

Made an appointment for an eye exam. Did not receive a reminder call until the day of. Was not told I needed to arrive 15 min early for paper work. When I arrived, I was told extremely rudely (both the doctor and receptionist yelled at me!!) by the receptionist that my appointment was given away! He pointed to the door and told me to get out! The doctor said he refused to see me because I did not arrive 15 min early for my appointment. I have the reminder call saved and it does not say to arrive early!! Ridiculous business practice!! The office has no signage indicating appointments will be given away if you have not arrived 15 min early! I've NEVER been treated so rudely before by an office or Doctor!! Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else. Just because the office is next to Costco doesn't mean they have the office management skills or people skills to run a business like Costco! Appalling! Insulting! and demoralizing sums up the office!!

Sunland Park office. Unfortunately 0 was not an option.
I walked in, completed the paperwork, handed it to the young lady and waited. Five to ten minutes later, while I was still waiting, a woman came in inquiring about her son's contacts while the son waited in the car. She spoke to the same young lady that I spoke to then phoned her son to come in. After my "prep" the young lady informed me that it would be another 15 minute wait bc the doctor was going to see the young man first. So much for "first come first serve". Totally unfair, won't be back.
