As a former employee of Phoenix Children's Hospital, I never thought I'd be leaving a review, but here we are. My 6 month old was referred to ophthalmology by her pediatrician for ptosis (or a droopy eyelid). I was pleased with how quickly they got me in when I called to schedule on July 22nd (next day). We went and saw Dr. Fecarotta at the Mercy Gilbert location-he was okay. My daughter had to have her eyes dilated for him to exam her. The medical assistant came in and pulled the eye drops from her scrub pocket. She placed the drops in my squirmy girls eyes. 30 minutes later my daughter was examined by the doctor. Dr. Fecarotta said her eyes were healthy and we were on our way. Four days later, on Saturday, my girls left eye, not even the one with the droopy lid, had green discharge and was constantly tearing. I assumed the start of conjunctivitis. I reached out to her pediatrician and we started drops the next day. The whites of her eyes never became red but she woke up with redness under her eye. We followed up with her doctor less than a week after seeing ophthalmology. She was diagnosed with pre septal or peri orbital cellulitis and had to be put on oral antibiotics. What exactly is the protocol for multi-use patient bottles?! Cause it's not working. I'm supposed to follow up in 6 months but don't feel comfortable with that. It's even worse when they tell your daughter's pediatrician they'll reach out to you and so you wait a week and still nothing.

Hi Lessli, thanks so much for the positive review. We’re glad you had a positive experience with Phoenix Children’s ophthalmology team. :)
Thank you, Mark, for the 5-star review!
We always have a great experience at PCH Ophthalmology with Dr. Fecarotta. The staff is always friendly, professional, and made us feel comfortable right away. The process was clear and efficient, and we didn’t have to wait long to be seen. The doctor took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. Overall, a smooth and positive visit, I’d definitely recommend them!
Note: Morning visits are usually a few minutes delayed, be sure to bring something entertaining since the visits do run a little late.
