From the time I made the appointment to the time I left I was disappointed, but I had no other choice since my optometrist referred me here. When I made the appointment, the receptionist and a nurse (that the receptionist was reluctant to even ask the nurse a simple appointment question about potential treatments that could happen the day of the appointment) would not give me any details. They booked the appointment. I was told by my optometrist that I would likely need laser surgery for my problem so when I asked them about what to expect if that were the case all they would say is "1-3 hours. Maybe they'll do the surgery maybe they won't." I needed to know as I needed to take off of work due to the possible 3 hour wait and I work in a dusty environment. That was the last time I spoke to an actual human for a month and a half before my appointment. When I got to my appointment, the receptionist and the technician that first saw me were very friendly, the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars. The technician had me wait for retinal images but after she walked away another technician grabbed me to go in the doctor's room. I told her the imaging hadn't been done (which to me is important in diagnosing what my problem was) and she said "we do that after you see the doctor." As someone who has worked in both optometrist and ophthalmologist offices I am well aware for what my issue is they would definitely need to do that before so the doctor could properly review the issue. When the doctor came in he was very dry and short with me. He was saying my other concerns that I told the original technician wouldn't have any correlation with the issue I was there for, which I already knew they weren't but he focused on that instead of the real problem. He then just checked my retina with a light, no pictures, and told me my issue wasn't big enough to treat. If that were the case, fine, whatever, but he proceeded to tell me I could get retinal tears or detachment later on but didn't feel the need to have anymore check ups with them in the future. So I used my last PTO day of the year for what ended up being a 45 minute appointment that was less in depth than an optometrist appointment. $40 might seem like a small amount to complain about but they did exactly what my optometrist did in June except less than she did. VERY UPSET and VERY disappointed. If your doctor tries to refer you here I would suggest maybe seeing if you can go elsewhere.

Just had my first appointment with Dr. Khan. I switched from another RS and the quality of care with Dr. Khan blows the other doctor out of the water. Kind, gentle, and great bedside manner/communication. If you need a RS, don’t hesitate to see him.

Absolutely love Dr Ram, he’s highly skilled, has a wonderful chairside manner and has saved my sight twice now in 5 years. I won’t go to any other Retina MD ever again. Also particularly worthy of a mention is Nurse Ashley, always remembers me and is truly empathetic.
