I have been seeing Dr. Kapur since 2017. She is very knowledgeable in her field and takes the time to answer all your questions and concerns. I receive eye injections for macular degeneration on a regular basis. It was “scary” at first, but now it’s just “routine”! Her staff are great and they work together like a well oiled machine to get the patients from one station to the next. Usually takes about an hour. Highly recommended!

Had to go to get laser on both eyes, was there waiting well past my appointment time. Staff is unprofessional and was eating suckers while doing my exam, wearing sweat pants, and refusing to clean equipment because they were out of cleaning products. Dr took a phone call while injecting me with dye, and was also reading a pt chart out loud into a recorder while I was in the room which is a violation of HIPPA. Needless to say, I would rather drive to Chicago than go back there.

Waiting room is crowded and sometimes no place to sit. Overbooked. Sometimes chairs are dirty and need vacumed. Unprofessional when Dr. repremends staff in front of patients.

I am a patient of Dr. Hussain. He and his staff are very professional, caring and nice. Dr. Hussain is extremely knowledgeable and skillful as an Opthalmologist with impressive credentials and training. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hussain to my family and friends who have retinal issues. Dr. Hussain is a thorough and trustworthy Opthalmologist and I would entrust my retina care to him and his staff.

Overbooking is a bad care practice. My father, who needs a driver for appointments, scheduled an eye appointment along with a driver six months ago. The appointment was confirmed one week before his scheduled appointment. The day after the confirmation, he received a phone call stating that the doctor had overbooked, and that his appointment had been rescheduled for the following week. When he informed the scheduler that he didn’t have a driver for the following week, she dismissively and condescendingly said, “I’m sure if they could give you a ride next week, then they could do it the following week too.” She told him to keep the rescheduled appointment then call back and cancel if he couldn’t find a driver. All of the onus for this bad business practice was placed on the patient. Such bad form all the way around.

Dr. Rashmi Kapur saved my sight 5 years ago. She did emergency surgery on my eye in the middle of the night on a holiday weekend. I see her regularly for follow ups. She is always thorough and efficient, kind and caring. You get individual care. Her new office on 1075 Featherstone suite 10 is bigger, brighter and more spacious. I find her staff very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend her to anyone that needs retinal care.

Awful experience, dirty waiting room, waiting hours for an appointment and poor communication. She overstepped her advice to my elderly patient by going off about medical insurance advice. If there were 0 stars that would be my rating.

Easily one of the best experiences with a doctor and staff I've had to date! The office is kind, good humored, and up-front about costs related to insurance, etc. (You are even given a handout when you become a new patient so that you are not blindsided by costs associated with care!). This experience took the edge off of any anxiety I have when stepping into a doctor's office. Kapur is a wonderful soul and VERY knowledgeable in her field. I would recommend her time and time again to anyone in need of retinal / eye care.

I want to thank Dr. Kapur for all that she has done to protect my eye health. You and your staff have been amazing. I want to thank you for correcting an issue that another provider just brushed off. You truly care for your patients and their wellbeing.

My mother had a horrible experience. The office is not clean. Doors a kept open and she could hear other patients’ personal information, so they do not follow HIPPA or confidentiality. The waiting room is over crowded and dirty. There is dirty, non wiped equipment in the hallway open to everyone that they make you put your face in. She was given injections that gave her an infection right away. It is obvious when reading these reviews that they are a 1 or a 5 that the people that left a 5 are either staff or friends/family. No actual patient would give this office a 5.

I’m leaving this review for my mom. She has diabetes and has to keep good tabs on her eye health. Her first (and last) visit was unpleasant to say the least. The Doctor’s attitude was very rude. She diagnosed my mom with all these issues she’s never had before and no other eye doctor has ever mentioned to her. When my mom asked questions or didn’t confirm her ridiculous assumptions, she snapped at her and acted as if my mom was stupid. She told my mom she HAD to get a dye test the very next day at the other location (an hour away) because her diabetic retinopathy was so extreme, and she wouldn’t be able to do it for a while because she was going on vacation. My mom said that a year ago, her other retina specialist said there some changes to her retinopathy but all looked well, so she asked if it was possible for it to go downhill so fast. Doctor said no, it’s been going on for a while and her last doctor lied to her. My mom got the very strong feeling that the doctor was trying to make money off of her and didn’t have any care for her health. The place was a dump and the doctor was too. Don’t go here if you want to be treated like a human.

The receptionist is a piece of work!! Be prepared to pay $250.00 which they will hold for a quarter, invest and then give you back what your insurance doesn't cover. All without interest. #faircreditactviolation

During my first visit, Dr. Kapur reprimanded me for initially seeing an optometrist for my condition, repeatedly stating that an optometrist is not a “real” doctor, only come to find out two months later that she misdiagnosed my scar tissue as a retinal tear. I am thankful that I sought a second opinion because she was planning to use a laser on my retina, for which I was told less than 24 hours before my scheduled appointment that I would have to pay more than $1000 out-of-pocket for this unnecessary procedure. Please consider seeking other options for your medical care, as there are far more professional and knowledgeable retina specialists in the Rockford area.

I have been going to the Retina Health Institute for over two years. When the covid virus first appeared, I was reluctant about going anywhere. But Doctor Kapur and her staff do an excellent job of protecting their patients. This is one of the few places I go with confidence.

I was there at the doctors office for about three hours before called. The doctor only spent about five minutes with me at the most. Her attitude was such like she had better things to do. The exam to me was very elementary. It was like a quick wash and rinse. I did not appreciate the way I was treated by the doctor. The rest of the staff was fine. I left there feeling like I wasn’t told anything about how my eyes were doing. No recommendations or anything to be aware of. One last comment the place can use some spic and span.

Office practices are shoddy at best and offensive at worst. Back office billing/AR person was rude and patronizing. Business practices and customer service need a lot of help. Watch out for all the money they want to charge without you knowing about it up front. Very unprofessional. Some other reviewers have made similar comments regarding the "deposit" of $250 and bogus cancellation fees. I can confirm that did happen to us also. Had to fight tooth and nail to get things reversed and recover our money. Can't speak to the professional medical side of things since we never got that far due to the clown show on the administrative side. At a minimum, I would not trust this practice (medically) simply due to the rude treatment up front. Not sure if the MD's are unaware or just actively condone the unprofessional rude behavior. Definitely a NOT RECOMMEND. There are plenty of other ophthalmologists out there.

When I went into the office of Rashmi Kapur MD I really needed help because my right eye was getting fogged up for around 3 to 4 hours a day and I was having trouble getting anyone to listen. I had already been to the hospital meal and had been diagnosed as having a TIA. I felt like everyone in there was very compassionate and they worked me in. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a Retina Specialist!!!

Dr. Kapur and Retina Helth Institute are definitely who you want to see when you have a retina issue. She and her staff are knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. Her ability combined with consideration for each patient keep the waiting room full. It's is well worth the wait! I saw another doctor who was negative and discouraging, so when I saw Dr. Kapur and was treated with a hopeful spirit, I knew I found the right provider. Was 20/400, now 20/25

So I let my left eye go totally blind (stupid me) caused by retina separation. Dr. Kapur saw me the same day I contacted her office, then set retina reattachment surgery ASAP. The surgery went well with detailed follow-up visits at her Rockford office. I now have good vision in that once defective eye credited to the skillful hands of Dr. Kapur. Obviously, I highly recommend her. She recently relocated to a new office in Rockford which I was quite impressed. The office staff is top notch. Many thanks to Dr. Kapur and her staff for my restored vision. I was blind but now I can see.
