I have macular degeneration, and I need monthly injections in my eye. This place, which supposedly is a retina specialist clinic, have only one doctor that can give eye injections, and he only works one day a week. I got a call today from the Institute saying he’s changing his schedule, and will only be working one day a month in the future. Now they are trying to hire another doctor that can give the eye shots back to a once-a-week schedule. But until they get him, now I have to wait 2 more weeks past my next appointment to get my next injection. I was told that timing is critical when needing to have these injections, and 6 weeks between appointments is not good. To anyone needing eye injections, this is not a good place to go. I now have another complaint. I needed to renew my California driver's license, but because of my eye situation, I needed to submit a form to the DMV signed by my eye doctor. At the Institute, they told me at my appointment that a doctor would need to fill out the paperwork I gave them after my appointment, and they would notify me when I could pick it up. (they won't mail these). About 5 days after my appointment, I get the call saying it is ready for me to pick up. I then drove 45 minutes (I live in Tehachapi) to get it on a Tuesday, and the office can't find it. So they have me sign a duplicate form, and they said they would have the doctor that comes in on Friday complete it with his signature, and they would make an exception to their policy, and mail it to me, since I drove all that way without being able to get it. Problem is, it's now two weeks after that Friday, and I still have not received it in the mail. My complaint is that they seem incompetent at times.

This was my first visit to Acuity. The front desk staff was very friendly as well as Dr. McGraw's assistant. Not a long wait at all. Dr. McGraw is very nice and he explained everything that was going on very thoroughly. Nothing serious. I highly recommend this practice. The whole experience from the time I walked in until the time I left was excellent!

I was so impressed with the staff and Dr. Scotti I miss read my appt. date and showed up two days early. They offered to see me if I could be patient. Worked perfectly! Never felt rushed! I will let all my contacts know how great my experience was. Thanks again
