My grandmother has been coming here for the past few years but it was the first time I accompanied her and personally experienced it myself. (She is almost 80 years old and does not speak/understand English so she needs a translator. I recently moved back after living out of state for the passed few years so I’m not familiar with my grandmother’s medical records, insurances, etc. Usually, it is my mom or my cousin.) I believe she was seeing Dr. Reiff (?) before he retired and hadn’t been here since almost two years ago. Unfortunately, her prescription refill expired and the pharmacy wouldn’t let us refill it without completing an exam. I’ve taken her several times for her routine doctor appointments but this was the first time I’ve taken her for eye care so insurance was a little confusing when we first got there to check-in because initially, they said it wasn’t accepted. The two ladies at the front desk were very patient and understanding while we all tried to figure it out since we never had a problem with her current insurance before. They searched previous visits and made phone calls to ask if her insurance was acceptable or not. Not exaggerating, we literally probably spent 20+ minutes trying to figure it all out which is much more effort than any other office would’ve ever done so thank you. Soon after, we were seen. She had to do an entire workup basically, checking her acuity, measurements, peripherals, etc. I completely forgot the tech/assistant’s name (sorry I don’t know the correct term) who did all of her tests.. but she had glasses with short, reddish brown hair. She was also one of the ladies who helped with the insurance up at the front. She was extremely patient with us as translating, especially medical terms, can be very difficult and time consuming. I’m sure she was probably so over it lol but she hid it very well and didn’t act annoyed at all even when she had to repeat things multiple times. All of the tests probably took like an hour or so total. She always made sure my grandma was comfortable and was accommodating. I’m sorry I didn’t get your name, but I am truly thankful that you assisted us today. :) My grandma sometimes can get overwhelmed at dr visits if she feels like she’s being a burden, and I’m sure she is grateful that you were so patient with her. I forgot the actual doctor’s name too but she was also very nice and helpful. It was a brief overview but she explained the test results and the recommended treatment plan. Overall, very satisfied with this visit. I usually don’t write reviews much but the extra effort and kindness that the assistant gave today was very appreciated and it is well deserved that she’s acknowledged for it. :) Thank you!
