Doctor Mckell is an awesome person. You can tell that he loves what he does. We go nowhere but with him when it comes to our vision care. He is nice with children and my babe liked him (so his energy is really nice). He is also bilingual so it makes his job reachable for many other people. Highly recommended. A man of God for sure! Thanks for the quality service with all the nice technology and humanism. Also the place is clean and in order

Dr. Mckell is awesome! Professional and super in detail, he is very easy to work with, and he will explain your test results very well and clearly. If I can choose Dr. Mckell to be my lifetime eye doctor I would!

Bought my first pair of glasses. Nobody asked to even try how they fit. I walked for less than a minute and had to come back as the glasses were sliding down. They made some adjustments and send me on my way again. This time I made it for a couple of minutes before it had to return back as the glasses were sliding down. They made some adjustments again and told me to try the glasses for a week before coming back. Glasses kept sliding down every few minutes, hurting on one side behind the ear and my vision was distorted.... after trying for a week (but not wearing glasses all the time as they were so uncomfortable) I went to Murray Costco. Night and day! The person who helped me adjusted glasses at least 10 times, making me try them and checking the fit between each try. I can actually wear the glasses now and seee!!!! Bunch of lazy people working at the downtown location. Will never go back there again!

Costco's Optometrist offices can be a hit and miss, and from some negative personal experiences with this SLC location, I will not be returning or recommending the doctors here. Had to meet with two different doctors and was very disappointed with both: McKell and Frandsen. I got a screwed up prescription and was given a very complicated situation that showed me they were not prepared for or had the right customer service skills to handle. I could tell Frandsen was uncomfortable and nervous the entire appointment; he did not introduce himself throughout the appointment and made the appointment uneasy. I felt anxious the whole time. I don't think any patient wants to know that their physician is nervous or unconfident in their practice, so I walked away feeling demoralized and uncomfortable. There was a lack of communication between the reception desk and the doctors themselves, which was frustrating for me, as the patient, to explain complicated situations that the doctors had created.

They corrected a bad prescription I'd had for over a decade across several other optometrists! I was skeptical, but I've been using the new lenses for several months now and my eyes feel so much better! The staff were kind and supportive. Can't recommend highly enough.

Dr McKell always does a great job and is very helpful. He's a nice guy, fun, and very proficient at what he does. He incorporates cool technology and imaging into serving me and other customers. His staff is also excellent and friendly. I definitely recommend these guys for your eye-care needs!
