I picked the San Diego Lasik Institute based on the reviews they got on Google and it just so happens that they are the closest lasik institute to where I live. I was looking at another one in La Jolla but I gave this one a shot first and made an appointment for consultation. I liked the vibe in their office (it's really clean and everyone is so nice and accommodating) that I didn't even bother checking the one in La Jolla anymore. On the day of my initial consultation, I was told I'm qualified to do lasik surgery and I made the appointment right there and then which I got scheduled for 3 weeks after. Before I left their office, I did the pre-op procedure since I was already there. As for the surgery, it went really smooth and I didn't feel any pain. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I was at their office I think for 4-5 hours because there were some eye exercises I had to do before the surgery. I wasn't allowed to do any near vision activities before surgery si no reading or looking at the phone, etc. but watching on the TV was okay and they have one in the waiting area. They also have a lot of free snacks and drinks all over their office. (There's really nothing else to do while waiting for the surgery besides watching TV and/or eating.) I'm normally scared of getting something in my eyes. I couldn't even do contact lenses before so thinking about getting lasik surgery really scared me. But I'm glad I didn't panic at all during surgery. Dr. Pham talked me through the procedure and it helped that he would tell me how long each step would take so I knew how much longer to anticipate before it was over. The surgery itself was so quick. I think 15 minutes? Probably even less. I'm so glad my husband suggested that I do lasik surgery and that I was able to muster all the courage to actually do it. Before surgery, my prescription was -3.00 and -2.75. The day after surgery, my vision was back to 20/20. On my 2-week post op check up my vision was 20/15! And thankfully today on my 2-month post op check up, my vision is still the same. I highly recommend San Diego Lasik Institute to anyone looking to get lasik surgery. Get your eyes checked asap to see if you qualify before it's too late. Or you might be stuck with blurry vision forever.

I highly recommend San Diego Lasik Institute. Dr. Pham, Dr. Darrow, and the entire staff are outstanding. Their office provides an abundance of information about their procedures and they are realistic and honest about expectations and results. Their equipment is the newest, most advanced technology available. They are kind, thorough, and thoughtful with patient comfort and care. They do not push procedures and make sure it is a fit for each patient. Following their detailed instructions will ensure a smooth process and recovery. This is truly an excellent team.

I had lasik surgery two months ago at the San Diego Lasik Institute and I’m so glad I finally went through with the procedure. I had been wearing eye correction for over a decade and was tired of dealing with glasses and contacts and my irregular astigmatism. I now have 20/15 vision and see better than I did when wearing my eye correction before surgery! Dr. Darrow, Dr. Pham, and the rest of the staff were all exceptionally kind, efficient, and professional. I cannot recommend them enough!
