I recently had an experience at Santee Vision Care Center Optometry that left me with mixed feelings and a sense of disappointment. I wanted to share my experience as it was quite frustrating and seemed to fall short of the level of service I expected from a healthcare provider. First and foremost, my visit to this optometrist was marred by a lack of pricing transparency. I went in for a contact lens exam, a service that I expected to have a clear and upfront cost. However, when I inquired about the pricing, I received a vague response indicating that it would cost between $100 and $200, depending on the "difficulty" of my vision. My appointment was, in essence, a basic eye exam with the added feature of trying on different contact lenses, and I was charged $150 for this service. What was particularly unsettling during this visit was when the front desk staff, Mark, inappropriately asked me where I worked in the context of pricing discussions, which felt intrusive and irrelevant. The next issue I encountered was a significant lack of communication. After my appointment, I expected to be informed when my contact lenses were available for pick-up. However, despite waiting for two weeks, I never received a call. I made three phone calls to the clinic during this period, and each time I was assured they would check and get back to me, but they did not. When I finally visited the clinic to pick up my contacts, I was told that the wrong lenses had been ordered. This was a clear indication of disorganization and a lack of attention to detail. To make matters worse, when I requested a prescription card, I was informed that the doctor needed to sign off on it. Upon returning to pick up my corrected contact lenses and prescription card, I was shocked to find that Mark forgot to check and ended up filling out a pre-signed prescription card. This was both unprofessional and unethical, and it undermined my trust in the practice. Lastly, my overall experience with this optometrist left me feeling unwelcome and frustrated. The staff's unfriendly attitude (minus Carissa, she was nice) and the series of mishaps I encountered throughout my visit created a negative atmosphere, which is not what anyone expects when seeking eye care. In conclusion, my visit was marred by a lack of pricing transparency, poor communication, and unprofessional behavior. I left the clinic with a sense of disappointment and I would caution others to carefully consider their options and potentially explore alternative eye care providers in the area.

Dr Grazian is the FINEST optometrist in my opinion. He is not only knowledgeable, but also he's very caring and kind. I recommend him HIGHLY, along with his helpful, and competent staff, Carissa, Monique, and Mark. Thank you to ALL!!

I had a great experience here, everyone works together in the office seamlessly. Very knowledgeable staff and Dr. Grazien was friendly, I felt he did every part of the exam thoroughly and explained everything, answered all my questions. They all made me feel they truly cared about my eyes!
