I was very disappointed with this center. Without my consent, they did a retinal examination, and I went home and my family of doctors told me that they were supposed to ask for my consent to do a retinal examination. Some shady business practices. I asked for the amount I owed, but they gave me the amount on a post-it note instead of an invoice. Pretty unethical business, and they refused to give me my prescription until I payed.

I am extremely disappointed with this unethical business. Upon arrival, I was rudely instructed to take a seat in the lobby area, I waited a couple minutes before the same lady returned and took me into the back room with various machines. She was rude and unprofessional. Spoke to me in a nasty tone as if I couldn't understand her instructions. She started off with some intake questions and continued between the first machine. I told her I made an appointment strictly for an eye exam. I made it VERY clear that I was here for an updated prescription for a new pair of glasses. She asked me why I didn't bring them, and I explained that my outdated pair of prescription glasses were nearly 2 years old and due to safety reasons, I only wear them part time at home. I also informed her that the contact lenses I was currently wearing were prescription lens and they were fine. Again, I repeated, "I am ONLY seeking a new prescription for glasses". She asked if I was interested in Lasik, and I responded no. I'm not exactly sure what she noted while she was on the computer during the intake questions, but I was very clear I just needed a current prescription for new glasses. As soon as I completed the questionnaire as well as each machine, she left the room. After 5 minutes or so, I was prompted by the optometrist to go into another exam room. She was exceptionally rushy. Felt like she was trying to get me out of there as soon as possible. When I made comments, she would simply brush me off. This made me extremely uncomfortable. I felt like she hastily bombarded me the repeated question of, "do you prefer 1 or 2?". She then impatiently asked if this was a good time to dilate my eyes while holding the bottle of solution as if she was ready to apply it before I can answer. The entire exam lasted no more than 10 minutes. She then exclaimed the convenience of contact lenses compared to glasses. I agreed but informed her that I prefer glasses because I often tear my contacts and don't find them as comfortable. Again, she brushed me off and she abruptly stood up and requested that I wash my hands and told me she will be right back. She returns and places a pair of contact lenses on the counter and asked that I try them on, and she walks out the room before I was able to ask her anything. As soon as I put them on, she returns and asks if I can read some letters and exclaimed "wow, you now have 20/20 vision" and gestured me towards the hall where a young lady stood. The young lady outside then goes and asks me about the style glasses I'm looking for. I tried on a few but ultimately decided to browse elsewhere for more selection. She then requested payment for my visit. Taken aback by the total, I confusingly asked about my insurance, and she assured me it has been accounted for and applied to the balance. I know for a fact that I stated several times to several staff that I was only here for an eye exam for new glasses. I also expressed my lack of interest in contact lenses and made it clear that my current prescribed lenses were fine. I DID NOT ask for contact lens services. This service was pushed on me without my consent. I did not ask, nor did anyone ask if I wanted a 'retinol image' to be completed. I am disgusted and disappointed with Saratoga Vision Center! Absolutely no one asked if I wanted the services I was charged for. I repeatedly communicated that I was not seeking such services and my only intentions for my visit was a standard eye exam for a new pair of glasses with my updated prescriptions. There were several other clients in the office, and I did not want to cause a scene and make anyone uncomfortable. I explained that I did not want contact lenses and I was still unfairly charged for this service. I was honestly scammed during my visit. I have never encountered such a dishonest business. Moreover, the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. The service here is unacceptable and purely deceiving. Due to the lack of moral principles I would not recommend this optometry office to anyone.

I really like the doctors over here. I hate that they literally lock their doors and no one is allowed in not even to look for glasses for this office in Saratoga. Missed my insurance for the year because I couldn’t get in to shop for some glasses. They are still in lockdown mode.
