Made an appointment over phone, gave all the insurance information then we went there and they say it’d be $250 charge because they don’t take our insurance. I asked them why didn’t they tell us before when the person on phone took the appointment? The (2nd floor) front desk guy says oh sorry about it maybe they didn’t know. Then I ask which other doctor there are, who’d have this insurance? He makes another appointment for the following week. My parents go there today and the lady says they either don’t take this insurance. SO WHY WOULD NOT THE SECOND FLOOR RECEPTIONIST WONT TELL ME instead of making another appointment and insuring me that yes Dr. Lee takes your insurance?! Both my parents and I had to take 2 days off of work for that bull crap! SO UPSET AND IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I really want to make a complaint because 2 days taking off work 3 people together then not even be able to do what we came here for, wasted money on gas and our valuable time! I wish I could make a complaint against that guy.

I agree that the wait time was long (that was why I put 4 stars). But after reading the reviews about wait time, I brought a bottle of water, book and power bank for the long wait. I also brought several disposable face mask as I read about the smell(?), although I did not really notice any bad bad smell. I went there as walk-in/same day appointment due to an urgent concern. I arrived around 12:30pm and left the place around 4pm. Despite of long wait time, the service I received today was great. Every single staff (from check-in to check-out, technicians and doctors) was very attentive and kind. I believe that the long wait time is because the technicians and doctors really check your conditions thoroughly, pay attention to your concerns and try to help you in any possible ways. Technicians and doctors checked my eyes thoroughly and answered to questions I had. I really appreciate everyone for their services today. But yes, the wait time is long.. so better prepare for it. There are some outlets for patients, so you can bring a plug/charger for your devices if needed. Oh and there was a water dispenser as well.

I did a lot of research to find a place that would take my insurance and called both the insurance and this place, both assured me it was within network. Before they could see me they charged more than they had quoted, that’s fine, I paid. Then they said there was nothing wrong with my eye and sent me home with an ointment only. Months later I STILL have issues with the eye and they sent me to collections because they couldn’t charge my insurance! A total waste of time and money. I tried contacting the customer support number but they are outsourced and gave me a wrong line to call locally. I finally reached the person in charge of the financial aid but she never answers the phone, sent directly to voicemail. At least all of them are consistently bad, it’s the one thing you can be sure of. Go somewhere else.

My husband and I love Dr. Fleming, but I couldn't get the office to file a claim with Independence Blue Cross for my husband's eye exam. I needed that EOB so I could file a claim with my secondary insurance, to be able to recoup the copay. So we're out $75, which is no small amount. Not happy about that at all.

I received excellent care from staff at Scheie, from the minute i arrived till I was discharged. I waited maybe 5 min and from then on, it was all exams by 3 different staff, very competent and answered all questions comprehensively and with care and compassion. I would highly recommend this clinic!!

It was a good experience all around. I did come early in the morning (7:30) as I was told it is on first come first serve basis and I got checked in as a first time patient, then waited until 8:05 to see the nurse which assigned me to a resident Dr. Then it was the pictures and back to the resident Dr., a retina specialist, and I was done and got an appointment scheduled. It took a good portion of 2:30 hours but they were good
