Dr. Shafer and his staff are truly peerless in every respect!! Excellent care, always cheerfully available. The moment I stepped into his office I knew this was going to be a great experience. I had cataract surgery and stent for glaucoma in both eyes. Dr. Shafer did a beautiful job. A truly miraculous experience to suddenly have my young eyes return to my not very young self. I was a patient of DR Shafer when he practiced in West Chester, and felt comfortable with him. When he relocated to Plymouth Meeting I immediately made the decision to travel the hour and 20 minutes to his new location. No second thoughts. He listens to my issues and explains what's going on, and how we can fix it. I've been diagnosed with cataracts and have scheduled surgical intervention. I am always extremely traumatized when my eyes are giving me problems; and DR Shafer assured me that he will take every step to make things "not so scary". I have confidence that he will do a great job. If you are looking for a true professional, give DR Shafer a call, you will be glad you did. Regarding my last visit, the scheduling was easy, the Patient Portal was relatively easy, staff are very professional and make you feel like they are happy you're there, and Dr Shafer always makes you feel like he just got finished reading your chart history. It's very reassuring. The office is lovely, comfortable, and clean.

I highly recommend Dr. Shafer's practice for their care and expertise. I had been to one of the very large vision facilities a while ago for the concern with my eyes and felt like I was in a factory, being shuttled in and out of exam rooms and waiting rooms. In comparison, Dr. Shafer's practice treated me with sincerity and kindness, explaining every step of my treatment and taking time to answer my questions. The emphasis on caring for the whole patient was clear and sincere with every staff person in the practice. One of the staff people even took time to return my call over a weekend. I had a relatively minor procedure, but felt like I was as valued as any other case. Great work - thank you!!
