Shammas Eye Medical Center is an ophthalmology practice with three locations in Southern California, including Lynwood, Downey and Whittier. It provides complete eye examinations, optometric services such as prescribing and dispensing glasses, and cataract surgery.

H. John Shammas, M.D., is an American Board Certified Ophthalmologist who trained at the University of Iowa and has practiced in Lynwood since 1977. Maya Shammas, M.D., and Renu Jivrajka, M.D., also lead the practice.

The practice was among the first in its area to offer phacoemulsification for cataract removal and ultrasound measurements to calculate intraocular lens power.
