Dr. Pauline Hong is super knowledgeable and detail oriented and I’m very thankful for her. Definitely recommend.

This place is really bad. the wait time was over a hour than my appointment at 2:00 and the lobby chairs are so nasty and dirty, and lastly they have no value of time it’s like wasting so much time of mine. Wouldn’t recommend this place

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. My eye doctor found holes in my retina on a Wednesday and told me he was sending an urgent referral to a retina specialist. He explained that if I suddenly started seeing a large number of floaters, I should go to the emergency room. Hearing that made me feel like this was something that needed prompt attention. I waited all day Wednesday without hearing anything. On Thursday, I called Sierra Eye Associates and was told they had not received my referral. After calling my eye doctor’s office, they confirmed they had already sent it multiple times and sent it again. I called Sierra Eye Associates back, and after several calls between the two offices, they finally confirmed they had received it. On Friday, I called again to check on the status, but I was told they were still waiting for the doctor to review my referral. Over the weekend, my anxiety became overwhelming as I researched retinal holes and the potential risks if they progressed. First thing Monday morning, I called again and was told they were still waiting on the doctor. When I called back later that afternoon, I was finally informed that the doctor had actually been out of the office for the previous two weeks and would not return until Tuesday. I really wish I had been told that from the beginning. Had I known the specialist wasn’t available, I would have immediately looked for another retina specialist instead of spending days worrying that my vision could worsen while I waited. Thankfully, I called another retina office Tuesday around noon. They recognized the urgency, saw me immediately, and performed the necessary laser procedure within hours of my call. Sierra Eye Associates did eventually call me Tuesday around 4pm to schedule an appointment for Wednesday morning, but by then I had already been treated elsewhere. I understand that some delays are outside of a medical office’s control, and I’m not placing all of the blame on Sierra Eye Associates. However, I do believe communication could have been much better. Simply letting me know from the start that the reviewing doctor was unavailable would have allowed me to seek care elsewhere much sooner and saved me several days of unnecessary stress. Based on my experience, I would not rely on this office for a time-sensitive eye condition
