My mom had a laser appointment at this clinic, they treated her terribly. The stupid women who work at that awful place told her she was being dramatic and acting very well. How can they treat people like that, showing no compassion for their pain? I think these clinics shouldn't exist.

Dr. Barron was very rude to my mom, his patient. Take your business somewhere else where they care about patients and their well being.

I was disappointed with our recent experience at South Texas Eye Center. While the staff was generally helpful, the doctor was very rude and lacked patience with my son during his examination. His eyes had been dilated with eye drops, making it difficult for him to keep them open and focus properly. Instead of showing understanding, the doctor repeatedly told him to “get it right the first time,” which was frustrating and discouraging for a child who was clearly struggling due to the effects of the exam. Medical professionals, especially those working with children, should demonstrate patience, compassion, and understanding. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I hope this feedback encourages a more supportive approach toward young patients in the future.

The staff checking patients on the back need to be more people friendly, especially with elderly population. They’re like bothered.

My son needed glasses because his glasses broke. Earliest appointment was 3 months ahead and my son did not have glasses for school and they could not use his last exam to make some glasses in the while he waited for his appointment! Receptionist asked Dr Hayes if he could been seen as emergency since he had no glasses for school and they told me he couldn't see him. I asked the receptionist what else could I do since my son could not wait 3 months with no glasses while going to school. She just shrugged her shoulder and said she did not know.

DO NOT take your kid with special needs to this plece, is my advice. We got kicked out “to wait outside” because my daughter started throwing a fit after the eye drops for pupil dilating. My daughter, with autism, anxiety and seizures. Stressing and sweating with 92F outside to wait for 20 minutes with dilated pupils.

It was an alright no the best but ok! Only one lady in the front was nice. The Lady that saw my mother was laughing at the fact she could even see inside my Moms eye because she already has a dense cataract. She was says what what was she doing there if she can't even see, then why bother charging her just a waste of time. she's been trying to have surgery for over 3 years which the same health care system in Brownsville keeps.sending her to different doctors. All have said the same thing for the past 3 years all know her history but wont sign for her to get surgery since she has HMO insurance. Very sad!
