Here’s a new one, several months ago I try to get my medical file and was told they would not give it to me. My insurance wouldn’t allow them so I called my insurance. My insurance made a complaint, I still don’t have my medical file. First doctor in my 60 years on this planet that I have not received “MY” medical records when requested. The Asian Doctor, I do not know his name since he wasn’t my doctor. My doctor was out having knee surgery. During my surgery I could hear this doctor talking about partying and such not professional at all. My surgery was not successful, no surprise, worst now with time. I went for a regular appointment with my doctor and the technician informed me she “refused” to work with the doctor that performed my surgery and he had left the practice. When I saw my doc, told him my story he did not say a word. Just want it to send me to his colleague to have an operation to “fix” my eye, didn’t go well in his office I’m surely not going go to one of his colleagues. His colleague’s office secretary called me three times and never responded. Update: I called and left message, I would be thrilled to have a positive update.

Our appointment was on Thursday August 31. It took me time to actually decide and write this review. I wanted to get a second opinion for my mothers vision and we did. I took my mother in she was loosing her eye sight, we truly didn’t know why that is why we took her in. She is also diabetic so we understand that didn’t help, but we still wanted answers. Our experience at Southwest Eye Care was very unpleasant, uncomfortable and sad. My mother saw Dr Valenzuela, as she was one of the only Spanish speakers as we requested. I can not explain how rude she was I couldn’t believe how rude she could be, from her attitude to the way she said things. Both my mother and I did not answer her back ever we listened and understood what she was saying. It made me extremely sad how she treated my mother SHE WAS GOING BLIND the Dr asked her to LOOK up my mother was not looking the way she wanted her to looked she tapped her nose and snapped her fingers and in an annoyed voice said “look up at my fingers follow my voice, over here. I then spoke and said “mother look straight up.” She did. This Dr even asked about her immigration status, asked if my mother had health insurance asked who would be taking care of my mother if she became fully blind I answered I would. She proceeded to tell me that I would go broke due to her diabetes that being a diabetic in the US and not having any medical insurance would make her go broke. She said my mother was going blind, there was no remedy to fixing her eyesight. All we needed was a referral letter to a retina specialist and she also said “I could give you that referral but it won’t help, it’s a lost cause you’re eyes are bad, I hate to break it to you but you’re going blind” we didn’t take the referral at that moment but I did call back and asked the tech who helped us that we would like that referral, we never received it and I even called the office to where Dr Pitcher retina specialist would be seeing my mother and they also said they hadn’t received anything yet. I truly feel bad for the way she spoke to my mom and all the things she said made us feel uncomfortable. She seems like a bully to me. I would not recommend Southwest Eye Care because of Dr Valenzuela. Terrible experience we had.

I was extremely disappointed in the manner I was treated at Southwest Eye Care. From the lady at the counter who told me I had to wait in line rather than simply take the clipboard that they provided me for paperwork, to the tech and even Dr.Valezuela. Why cant the front desk simply take the clip board rather than have you wait again in line? The tech didn't seem to understand why I was there and said I guess for my regular check up. I explained that I was told to come back in a year rather than two year. When Dr. Valenzuela threw terms out at me and I asked questions, she said I had an attitude. I almost got off the chair right then and there. How else am I supposed to understand my eye issues without asking questions. I was treated rudely at Southwest Eye Care and will probably not return next year. They are very unprofessional and acted as they were doing me the favor instead of appreciating my business. I'm sure not all the employees at this business are like this, but it's clear the tech told the doctor he felt I had an attitude. is this what Healthcare has come to? Very disappointed in this business. They were not like this in the past.
