Dr. Tarek Mohana is awesome, very friendly and very knowledgable. The staff is great as well, everyone is very helpful. Been going to him for over 5 years and cant imagine going anywhere else for contacts or glasses.

Took the additional time to throughly inspect my eyes to provide an explanation of concern for my health. Without hesitation, helped me get my new prescription situated. Without charge, kindly requested to schedule me for a follow up to ensure the medication cleared the concern. I have been a customer for the last few years and have been valued with each visit.

I’ve been a patient of Dr Mohana’s for 10 years, and while the optometrists themselves provide excellent care, the office’s management and customer service leave a lot to be desired. The phone line is almost always busy, making it nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone. At least invest in voicemail, call waiting, callback system, or a second phone line. Their online appointment system is misleading as the dates shown weren’t actually available. I only found out when the text message system gave a confirmation for an appointment date a month out. Most recently, I arrived for my scheduled appointment only to find the office completely closed for construction—Costco is doing some renovations. This was something I was never notified about. I tried calling, but once again, the line was continuously busy. The lack of reliable communication and front desk support makes it extremely frustrating to be a patient here. I’ve already found another optometrist and have a prescription in hand!

Dr Mohana is terrific. I've been going to him for over 10 years.

I have been a patient of Dr Mohana for quite a few years. He is thorough and takes time to answer questions. I am very pleased with him. Sometimes it takes a bit of persistence to get an appointment, but I believe it's worth the effort.

Answers the phone with “please hold” and leaves you on hold until you hang up. Just Terrible!!

Customer service has started to decline in certain areas but there’s a gentleman named Dr. Tarek Mohana who needs to hold courses at all Costco stores. Businesses are in business to make money. If a business is about to close in ten to fifteen minutes and one turns away a customer, that’s not a good business practice. Along with losing that customer’s business money is also being lost. Dr. Mohana appears to understand the practicalities of business. He understands the term “ going above and beyond “. The service that I received with Dr. Mohana of Special Eyes Optometry was five star ⭐️ just like at a five star restaurant. I highly recommend Dr. Tarek Mohana.

Update 9/23/25: I was finally able to speak with someone to assist me with my contact lens prescription. Irene was very nice and extremely helpful. I can’t thank her enough for her assistance. Hopefully I will be able to order my contact lenses soon. Thanks again Irene!! Since I’ve had my exam in March 2025, I’ve had nothing but issues ordering my contacts line which has never happened before. For months I’ve been trying to contact their office, but it’s impossible to get through and speak with someone. I’ve left messages and never received a call back and tried to email them, but mail email came back as undeliverable. Finally, I went by Costco to visit their office, during their business hours, to speak with someone, but they were not open. I tried calling again several times after that and the phone just kept ringing. It’s been 6 months now and have yet to reach someone and get this resolved. It’s very frustrating!

Easy to schedule, affordable, and overall smooth experience. I also appreciate how serious they take retina exams. A Costco optometry retina exam diagnosed a serious condition and saved my eyesight many years ago! Strongly recommend.
