She always makes me and my family feel like we are a priority. She’s very knowledgeable, takes her time explaining things, and really cares about her patients. Dr. Chandler-Drakes and her staff were so welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first time to the optometrist since I was a child, and I was so impressed by the cutting edge technology and thoroughness of my exam. Dr. Chandler-Drakes was incredibly patient and took the time to clearly and concisely explain everything. Cannot recommend Stamford Family Vision enough (and I already have to friends and family).

I’ve been to a few different eye doctors but my experience with Dr. Shanee was by far the best. She is extremely thorough and uses state-of-the-art equipment. I really appreciated how detailed she was during the exam she caught things that other doctors had overlooked in the past. She was also incredibly patient while fitting me for my new contacts, making sure the fit was exactly right before I left. I never felt rushed, and she was so sharp and professional throughout the whole visit. To top it off, the selection at the office is great; I finally found the perfect pair of frames that actually suit my face. The whole process was seamless and the staff was great. Highly recommend her if you want top-tier care!

I was totally Apprehensive and in denial about wearing glasses I meet with Dr Chandler at Stamford Family Vision Center who made me feel comfortable from the time i entered her office. I knew I was in the right place instead of those quick sales seeking a commission impersonal retail eye stores. Which glasses gave me a huge headache that never went away. Dr Chandler took her time to test my eyes extensively and got down to the precise prescription I needed, consulted and explained it all without confusion. My whole family goes here. We all love our glasses, our headach are non existent and we look sharp in our specks. Her prices are affordable and she works within your budget. Her professional and extensive knowledge of eye science was exceptional. Ive been a patient 5 yrs strong. I cannot express in no amount of words how much she made our vision come back to life!! I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful experience. I took my daughter in for an initial eye exam about two weeks ago. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The optometrist was just as nice and patient with my daughter. She even took the time to get to know her interests while examining her and helped her to determine a frame that fit her properly. A couple of weeks later we were called to come in and pick up the glasses. My daughter was so excited to wear her glasses after trying them on. She loves her glasses and finally will be able to actually see what she’s doing and be fashionably cute. Thank you!

I continue have amazing experiences at Stamford Family Vision Center! Dr. Chandler was incredibly professional, welcoming, and very knowledgeable—don’t let her youthful looks fool you! I’m very thankful for the excellent care I receive and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality personalized vision care.

wanted to love this place, but I don't think I will be back ever again. The initial meeting was great, and I thought the doctor was nice, but it felt like I was constantly being ignored when I asked for my contact prescription. Mind you, I paid for it in full right after the evaluation. I went to this office on December 23rd, 2025, for a contact and glasses annual check-up. This was my first time coming to this office because my old place doesn't take my insurance anymore. I ordered a pair of glasses with them, and after a month of waiting, no communication, they finally called me to tell me the glasses were lost during delivery. Okay, that's fine i guess since its not like i need my glasses to see everyday. I went in to order another pair, and while I was there, I asked again if I could obtain a copy of my contact prescription. Mind you, I have been asking since the middle of January, and the same response was given to me: send a message to the number with your email. Okay, I did that 4 times, and every time I called, I was told the same thing. And I did the same thing every time. I was even there in person to ask the same thing to which the doctor said: text the number and we will email it to you, even though i feel like she could’ve given it to me right then and there but since it was already 5pm i think she wanted me out of there! Fast forward to Feb 12, I called right when they opened and told them I have been texting and need my prescription, and they said they will email. GREAT! They emailed it FINALLY, and I can't even view the message because of confidentality which I understand, but I asked her to send it again, in which she did, and I still couldn’t open it. I wasn't going to leave a review, and I was going to just keep calling until I got it, but as a patient (NEW PATIENT MIND YOU) i shouldn't have to beg for my prescription. I understand that she gave me a new contact brand to try vs my old one because she didn't have mine on hand, but I even asked her beforehand if I was going to have trouble obtaining my previous brand of contacts if I didn't like the ones she gave me, and she told me I would just have to call and they would provide it. Anyway, I just felt really disrespected as a patient, and it's upsetting because, like I said i really wanted to continue going here. By the way, if you're going to tell a person you're going to send it to their email, and they call you back, telling you they can't open it, be kind and patient and don't sound annoyed when they're asking you for THEIR INFORMATION! its my prescription and I have the right to access it. I ended up picking up my prescription and glasses, but the doctor didn’t acknowledge me or apologize at allllll, the front desk lady was apologetic, which was nice but i would’ve liked it if the doctor said something to me. and yes i did get my contact prescription, but that was after i had to beg your office. And yes fitting had to be verified, but i did ask about it in person and all you said was to email. I did everything right and i dont want you to make me feel like i did anything wrong

As a first time patient, I was pleased with my initial visit. The male staff member at the front desk was welcoming, friendly, and professional. Unfortunately, my experience afterward was disappointing. When I called to arrange pickup for my contact lenses, the female receptionist was rude, spoke in a dismissive tone, and abruptly ended the call. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand that days can be busy, but patients should always be treated with courtesy and respect. Interactions like these can make patients hesitant to return. Additionally, I was told I could text the office number with questions. After being referred by Dr. Chandler to see a specialist, I texted requesting a letter for my employer, as my job required documentation. Unfortunately, I never received a response. These experiences have negatively impacted my impression of the practice. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration so future patients receive the level of communication and care they deserve.

She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always takes the time to make sure everything is explained and that our vision care is exactly where it should be. Thank you for your response. You're right, I should say more than leaving a one-star review. My partner and I came for our general eye exams in October 2024. Scheduling the appointment was easy- that was really the only thing that went well. Now let me list the things that did not go well. During the visit - the front desk staff jokes about not having to wipe down equipment between me and my partners. Not professional. During that visit and multiple other visits, I witnessed HIPAA violations. (Other) Patient health information, full names etc. were being shared without consideration of who was present at the desk. During my exam the doctor diagnosed me with something that (after 2 other opinions) does not exist. I actually went back for further tests that costed money out of pocket. Makes me wonder if this scare tactic is used to bring in business. My prescription was incorrect. I did not order glasses from here. And when I brought it back as an incorrect prescription it was somehow the fault of where I got my glasses made. They did try to get me a new prescription, which was still wrong. After going to another optometrist - I got my correct prescription. Dr. Chandler was not just slightly off. But very off twice. I am not sure how this place has such a high rating. Maybe the people that have bad experiences want nothing to do with them ever again- that is how I felt. That is why it's taken me this long to write this review. This place is run like a shady business. Go some place else, there are other optometrists that do a much better job.

Nice staff, but disappointing service overall. The doctor seemed rushed and the eye exam did not feel thorough. They also charged me an extra fee for eye imaging without telling me upfront. When I questioned it, they called it “routine,” which felt misleading and not transparent. They need to improve their service quality and be more honest about pricing.
