Honestly a terrible experience. My wife and I went in for our annual eye exams. The Dr performing the exams didn’t seem to do a great job. He wasn’t able to perform a simple diagnosis on my wife’s eye which she has done annually as part of her check up. He chalked it up to “nothing serious” even though it’s a condition that requires prescription eye drops. He performed my exam wrong as well. I asked him to redo it immediately but he said he was confident it was right. We left frustrated and decided to go elsewhere to purchase glasses/contacts. As we were placing our orders at another store, I noticed the new prescription I got was lower. I called them and asked “how did my eyes get better? My prescription usually goes up, not down” They assured me it’s pretty common and not to worry. I went ahead and ordered contacts with that prescription. Sure enough, I couldn’t see. I went back and asked for a retest and to raise my prescription. Upon leaving the store, I double checked to make sure everything was right but realized the clerk had given me the wrong prescription AGAIN. I drove back again and had them print off the correct one (After 3 more times) However, since we decided to purchase our contacts/glasses elsewhere, none of it was covered. I used my insurance benefits to cover contacts I can’t even use, and now have to pay out of pocket to correct the mistakes that Standard Optical made. Ultimately just a huge waste of money for us. Very unprofessional place. Absolutely terrible customer service. Save yourself the hassle and just go anywhere else.

I used to go to the location in Provo and they would always try to get me to purchase super pricey glasses and all I wanted was something my insurance covers most of it. I came to this location and the first thing before I even got my exam done was sit down with a wonderful lady who looked at my insurance then while I was getting my exam done she pulled out all the frames in my price range and had them ready for me to look at! She did it on her own fruition and it totally made me feel understood and cared for as a customer. Then she genuinely helped me pick a pair that was cute on me and made me feel like $1,000,000 even though I probably got the cheapest frames in the whole place. Stellar customer support and genuine service. Thank you!
