I had a wonderful experience at Surf City. I was a walk-in for glasses and Steven was extremely helpful, patient, and offered a lot of insight to my choices and insurance benefits. He made the experience seamless, I normally hate getting glasses because of how much time it takes but it was an overall smooth process. Thanks Steven!

My family has been going here for years, and every time we have such a great experience, best staff ever! They always provide stellar service from the thorough exams and making sure we are educated and understand the process/diagnosis every step of the way, to providing details on the latest technologies to improve our eye health...we will not go anywhere else. Surf City Optometry is part of our family!

The doctor was very helpful and personable. The front desk staff was good as well. The Asian guy that was trying to get me to buy glasses was not. Not personable at all. I sat in front of him waiting for the next steps of buying glasses and he sat there at first reading something and didn’t even acknowledge I was there. I am clearly disabled, so what does he do, he hit me with a price well over $500, then $398, and finally at almost $200. This is all with insurance. I’m pretty sure those guys are probably paid commissions on what they sell but to act like the $525 was the way I needed to go like I didn’t have a choice. Luckily my wife told me to walk away because that’s crazy. My wife got glasses from a different place and spent only $80. So unfortunately I will not be going back.
