Alexa from the front desk was kind and helpful to me and my parents, even after we asked the same questions she probably answers a million times every day. Both, my mom and dad, were scheduled for appts on the same day we called (Oct. 25) and after some back and forth with insurance, they were able to be seen. My mom could not stop gushing about how kind Cora was during the eye tests, and both parents felt welcomed by Cora and her warm personality. Both parents also like Dr. Ruiz, and he spoke Spanish so they both felt empowered to be able to speak directly with the doctor, which is not always possible at other eye exam appts due to the language barrier. Neither parent was ready to purchase glasses, they were priced a bit out of our price range, but the service was great. We will definitely be back next year.

I've been going to TSO-Riverside for a few years and have noticed it is going down hill fast. In my recent experience, I struggle to think of anything that went right. The wait time was almost an hour, they didn't do all of the pre-tests correctly or dilate me so we had to back track, the eye doc seemed very frazzled and unprofessional, office staff incompetent, multiple payment processing issues, contact lens ordering issues taking weeks to come in, and many other issues in one annual visit. I read a few similar reviews which made me feel like it is more of a pattern here versus a one-off. Avoid this place for now. Yoli the Manager has to profusely apologize for everything and is a pro at that because they create negative experiences for their customers and she is used to this. I will be trying to find another Optometrist for my next visit and try to transfer my information out of TSO which should be a headache like every other step in the process.

It’s that time of year that my husband and I needed our annual eye exam. Due to a new job and changing insurance, we needed to go somewhere new. We live in South Austin so this place was conveniently located. Besides that, there is nothing positive about this place. Despite having an appointment, I needed to wait nearly 45 minutes. My husband another 20. It felt dirty and dusty in there. There were problems checking out, with insurance, even though on the phone I provided my husband and is information. Overall, coming here was a long headache. I’ll look for a new eye doctor next year for sure.
