The Eye Care Group is a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice in Branford, Connecticut. It provides care across all fields of ophthalmology, with subspecialists in retina-vitreous, glaucoma, cornea-external disease, refractive surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, and oculoplastic.

The practice has continued since 1974 and is the longest established ophthalmic office in the area. Its 18 ophthalmologists are board certified, hold clinical appointments at Yale University, and take part in clinical research trials. The team includes a low vision specialist, certified orthoptists, ophthalmic technicians and assistants, retinal angiographers, and licensed opticians.

While this was my initial appointment with The Eye Care Group, I expected it would be longer than with my previous physician. I did not expect to sit for 58 minutes from when I was given the drops to dilate my eyes after being told they would call me in "about" 15 minutes.I would have been much happier with an explanation.I was brought to the exam room then waited an additional 10+ minutes for the doctor. Luckily, I had no other appointments, commitments, or plans. Maybe first time patients can be forwarned with the allotment of time needed for the initial exam, Otherwise, I was please with the facility, the friendly atmosphere, and the thoroughness of the exam. Dr. Berenberg was excellent both in his professional demeanor and in his thorough explanation of my exam. His staff is also to be commended for their caring and and attention to detail.

We absolutely love Dr. Cronin. She is an amazing doctor. Her ability to connect with the kids at all ages (my son has been with her for 6.5 years) is unprecedented. She communicated clearly with the parents and takes extra care when procedures/surgery is necessary calling us at home pre and post surgery. The rest of the staff at Eye Care Group is just as lovely. The are kind and patient and make a less than comfortable experience for kids bearable. My only complaint is the wait time but I would never change doctors for our boy because she is that good!
