Avoid this place at all costs. They’ll switch your eye doctor on you last minute and not even advise? Let me know before I come in that the person isn’t available don’t just assume I’ll be okay with someone new. Never sent my prescription to the pharmacy and then had the audacity to charge me a no show fee when there was no point in me coming back if I couldn’t even get the treatment I needed. Rude and unprofessional. Not to mention I had to wait over an hour last time I was there for the other doctor to show up. The first person never recorded my initial exam. Overall such ridiculously lousy service. Receptionists need some better training too, they have some nerve being rude.

I wanted to like this place more because it’s so close to me and in a beautiful building, but I got to my eye exam at 2pm and didn’t leave till 4 pm… longest eye appointment of my life! I was told it would take 15 mins for the dilating drops to kick in but they had to move me to another room while waiting for that to happen to squeeze in another patient (they are definitely overbooked which must be why every step of my appointment took so long). They left me in the dilating room for way longer than 15 minutes, I was beginning to wonder whether they had forgotten about me. The staff there are okay, not rude but not personable either.

Dr. Rassier and his assistant Sandra are FANTASTIC. I initially wasn’t even going to write this review but something has to be said and potential patients should know. The front desk staff is shockingly rude, disorganized, and passive aggressive. Before you think this is just a rant, let me clarify. Quick background on me: I tend to get along extremely well with my medical practitioners. This isn’t because I’m anything special. This is because I am courteous, friendly, organized, and basically have my s*^t together so I don’t waste their (or my) time. This office generally runs late- as much as 2 1/2 hours. This is actually not a make or break for me if I know it coming in- I’m willing to wait for a fantastic doctor, which Dr. Rassier is. HOWEVER… the front desk staff does not inform anyone when the doctor is running behind. That’s just basic courtesy. But if it were just that, I would not be writing this review. The first time I called to make a contact lens appointment, the front desk staff gave me inaccurate price information. This meant that when I showed up for my appointment, I immediately had to cancel. On the same inquiry phone call, the same employee kept insinuating that I was going to try to avoid paying for the appointment somehow. I recognize that she may have been dealing with a different patient who was trying to do just that but she did not know me and it seems unreasonable to come out of the gate swinging that way. When I was finally able to come in for my lens fitting, I waited for almost 2 1/2 hours to be seen. When I was led in back, I was then told that I wouldn’t be seen for the very appointment that I made. It turns out that there had been a computer changeover and the front desk had not bothered to look at my appointment in the old system or update it in the new. Ok- I could even forgive that- tech sucks- but then I was accused of dropping the ball by not telling them what my appointment was for (that I made weeks before with one of them on the phone) when I first came in that day. Had they asked when I had arrived, had they said they were dealing with a new system, I would have told them but they did neither. There is absolutely no reason I could have thought she didn’t know what my appointment was for since I made the appointment for that specific purpose, on the phone, with one of them. I’m even one of those people who, had they told me when I made the appointment that I would need to remind them what it was for when I came in, I would have put a note in my calendar. They did nothing and then acted aggressively like I was at fault. I almost left but Dr. Rassier was kind enough to see me and apologized. Fast forward to today. I called to follow up on my prescription and was put on hold for a full 9 minutes at which point I clearly heard the phone cradle picked up and then they hung up on me. I called back and this time I was immediately- and clearly- hung up on with no answer. I frankly find this level of childish behavior inappropriate for any business and I will be taking mine elsewhere. Should Dr. Rassier either leave this clinic or replace this wholly unprofessional front desk staff, I will happily follow him there. He is a delightful and gifted doctor. If you do use his services, know that he’s great… just brace yourself for the ridiculous and unprofessional front of house experience. UPDATE: I had been told by the front desk staff that my preferred contact lens was unavailable from/not made by the manufacturer (Acuvue Oasys with Base Curve 9.0). After my experience with this office, I recently decided to contact the manufacturer to confirm. They make my preferred contact lens and have for years. I ended up going to a different doctor and getting a brand new prescription rather than dealing with this office again.
