Not worth the headache if you're trying to shop around for LASIK. I made an appointment online early this week for tomorrow (Saturday). I got a confirmation call about this appointment. The woman on the phone said she would send me directions (she didn't). I decided to look around at different providers and made a virtual appointment at TLC in Madison. Apparently by making this appointment, it cancelled my in person appointment for The LASIK Vision Institute. I'm glad I couldn't remember what time my appointment tomorrow was and had to call. If I didn't, I would have driven 2 hours round trip just for a cancelled appointment. The lady on the phone wasted a half hour of my time because of the lost appointment and she cancelled my appointment with TLC too (without me asking). This company, or should I say these companies (TLC, LasikPlus, and The LASIK Vision Institute) can't even handle appointments online. I'd hate to see how they handle an actual surgery on your eyes.

First time I’ve ever left a review but I was thoroughly impressed with them. While I was a viable candidate for the surgery they found the start of a cataract in one of my eyes and they informed me that if I got the surgery now the formation of a cataract later would likely negate the surgery results. I was impressed how they put my needs first and foremost. Down the road after my cataract requires removal I will be sure to get any vision corrections done there if needed

My Only complaint is an overall view of how Lasik manages patients who fall "within the parameters' but are still a more risky surgery. They need to manage the expectations of the clients. If you are told at the initial appointment that it is a go - no problems. Then on surgery day you receive a call that the procedure is cancelled - You will probably have a strong reaction, and feel blindsided. That is how we felt when this exact scenario happened. Our surgeon (who looked at the case for the first time on surgery day), did not agree with the initial screening, and would not do the procedure. He saw many red flags and his opinion differed from the initial Dr's examination. We are grateful to the surgeon choosing not to do a risky procedure. I feel in our case, they should not have scheduled the procedure until the Surgeon had reviewed the case, and then we would not have taken unpaid time off work, traveled 3 Hrs, and been so emotionally let down, because we had not been told that there was a possibility we were not a candidate for Lasik at the initial appointment. So when all is said and done, it is just a simple adjustment to Lasik's procedures to not schedule more risky cases until they get the go ahead from all the Doctors involved in the case. Also, help manage the patients expectations that there is a possibility it may not happen and we would be informed of that on the day of surgery. If those small considerations were made to us, then I would have no complaints, as all the employees were very nice.
