Beware!! On November 17, 2022 I had PRK done with Dr Alsheikh. I was told I was going to be seen for my post ops by Dr Guzman the day after surgery, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months after surgery and if I needed more there were going to be covered for the 1st year. On February (month 3)I was not 20/20 and told me to keep using eye drops and come back in another 3 months. I go back in May and told me same thing still not 20/20 maybe dryness of eye, keep using eye drops come back in 3 months. Come back in August, she tells me you still have a quarter of astigmatism but already a 20/20. You can do an enhancement but I don’t recommended because it could reverse everything. Lets give it another 3 months and keep using eye drops and then you can make a decision. I go today to what I thought it was going to be my last covered visit. When I checked in they asked me for my medical insurance. I asked why and they said it was for my yearly visit. I said no it’s my last post op visit. She said she was going to check with my insurance to see if it will be covered. She checks and tells me it was going to be $60 plus the charge of another 2 exams I kept saying this was not a yearly visit that it was still under the year of my surgery. She went and asked Dr Guzman about it she comes back and said that I was going to get charge for the visit but I could decline the other 2 exams. I work at a dental office and whenever there is an issue with a patient the doctor address it and takes care of the patient not just let them leave like they did with me. She never came out to talk to me or anything. How unprofessional is that? I had PRK done in Mexico in 2015 within the month I was 20/20, no issues, no glare, no nothing. Now, I’m “20/20” still have to squint to see and see glare?! I referred my cousin and she also had PRK in December and they are telling her the same thing. You are 20/25 but don’t recommend an enhancement, come back in 3 months. I’m going to tell her not to go because she will get charge. Is this what you all say to all patients? Persuade them not to fix the problem so they’ll keep going there and get charge? I was going to pay easily over $100 today for the exact same thing she’s been doing and for her to convince me not to do the enhancement or to do another procedure and get more money from me. I am very upset! I did not paid $100 for this. I paid $4,300 and now what am I supposed to do? Do not come to this place.

I brought my mom here. They have great customer service, are very patient, and make sure you understand what is going on. They seem very thorough to ensure the best care they can give. I am very pleased with them.

I scheduled a Lasik consultation with TLC at the recommendation of my local optometrist. They were able to schedule a phone call to answer my initial questions to save me a trip in to San Antonio. They were then able to schedule the in person consultation and surgery date for very convenient times. Teri, Donna and Dr. Guzman were very friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions throughout the process. The day of surgery, the staff was very helpful and the process was so smooth. Post surgery, my vision is 20/15. I have had a smooth recovery and have never seen this well in my life. I only regret that I waited this long to get Lasik.
