Horrific wait times. Never waited this long for any doctor EVER. It’s so bad I’m considering switching from Tufts. Easily 1-2hrs AFTER your appointment time, you’ll finally be seen by a doctor.

Let me first say that Dr Wu and Dr Vessels are both amazing. This review is for the deplorable scheduling department. Tufts New England Eye Center needs to do a much better job of returning people's phone calls and getting them an appointment. I left a message over 2 weeks ago, and I never heard from anybody. The same thing happened a year ago when I called several times, and nobody ever called me back. It's as if Tufts doesn't want the business. I ended up having to leave a message for Dr Wu to call me because I just could not get a return phone call last year. Doctor Wu did call me, which was fantastic. She gave me the direct number to her secretary who scheduled me for an appointment -- but I'm quite sure Dr Wu doesn't have time to return phone calls due to incompetence from the scheduling staff. Getting an appointment or a return call should not be this complicated. I'm posting this review in hopes that Tufts management corrects this major problem.

I am at a loss for words at the sheer amount of unprofessionalism displayed in this office. I have been trying to get someone from neural ophthalmology scheduling to call me back for a week now. I’ve worked in VARIOUS office setting and standard, professional procedure when returning phone calls is 24 hours maximum! I have fought just to leave voicemails. I am halfway through a twin pregnancy and live over 8 hours away. Knowing that getting an appointment can take up to a month, I have diligently called every single day hoping to get something, ANYTHING on the books before I am too pregnant to safely travel that distance and NO ONE has returned my calls. At one point I was told someone tried to call me back. I never had a missed call or a voicemail and when I finally was put through to Stephanies voicemail (who supposedly called me) a recording saying that she no longer works there was played, so please enlighten me on how she called me… This is unacceptable, especially considering the condition I need to be seen for could cause me to go blind if it is bad enough and left untreated. Id file a formal complaint if I could get anyone to answer the phone but since they won’t, here is my lovely review of this establishment. 1 star is one to many.

Dr. Helen Wu performed my corrective eye surgery (Visian ICL) and I couldn't be happier! For the first time in 30 years I'm not wearing glasses and have 20/20 vision. I am thrilled. The staff members are all very friendly and the quality of care is excellent.

Apparently I’ve just crossed over into… The Twilight Zone. Strange-acting female staff, with the exception of Dr. Werner.

You know when you get a new insurance company and a new hospital situation, you trust that they're going to take care of you and your needs! When they break that trust and break their word they don't understand as a writer as one of their patients and you treat me like this my readers are going to know! During a botched surgery they almost wrecked one of my vocal cords! I'm a singer a writer of speaker etcetera if I don't have my voice I can't project! They never apologized for this and they didn't even approach me that they had even did this they wanted to sweep it under the rug! Well I would tell Tufts medical center you can't sleep under the rug what a writer writes! And they didn't keep their word about possibly having another surgery with me after I got sciatic nerve damage November 2024 on Thanksgiving Day of all times to be injured! Trying to work with the homeless that day everything went fine in downtown crossing I came back home later and I couldn't move a muscle and I couldn't figure out why? I was on the couch for about 8 days I could not move absolutely true! I was scared that I permanently injured something I couldn't get dressed, no matter what situation I tried to move on the couch I was in pain! I had gotten pain pills before but these were absolutely useless against this kind of pain! When I was able to finally get dressed I called the paramedics to come and get me which these guys were incredible for Tufts medical center emergency room! Which they took me there! I was there I believe for about 4 or 5 days! It was determined that I just had nerve damage in my back all the way down the right side of my leg! I thought for sure they were going to operate on me and relieve the pain and the pressure! They said they wanted me to try therapy first and I said are you kidding I can't even move! So I agreed to their therapy session in another placewhere I still could move and they can verify that! What the doctors had told me before this therapy session move if it doesn't work out for you come back to us and we'll do the operation! I couldn't move and they never did the operation and they never got back with me! These people are liars I don't know why they told me what they told me, what they don't understand is the third book I'm writing right now by the grace of God it's going to have a bonus chapter at the end of it and it will be Thanksgiving Day November 2024 should be the title! And I'm going to share when I'm sharing with you now except in more detail and people will see what happened to this writer after Thanksgiving Day 2024 and the ineptitude and willful ignorance of Tufts medical center! I trusted these people and they proved me wrong! Friends of mine are telling me I should consult an injury attorney for what they did to me in the hospital and I'm considering it! I've been doing vocal therapy exercises on my own to try to get my voice back to where I can sing like I did before! But I'm definitely thinking about consulting an injury attorney since this happened during one of the neck surgeries which also went bad! Where they damaged the vocal cord! You can't even make this stuff up! I don't believe I no longer trust Tufts medical center for my needs! If I was to die I'd rather die at peace than die in their hospital! 😳🤕😯😡

I don’t think I have ever talked to someone as rude as Betty from reception. You should really train your employees to be nicer on the phone. I would give negative stars if I could.

If you value your eyesight, do not go to this place because of the neglect, I lost vision in one eye and we'll be blind in one eye for the rest of my life because of the failure in poor habits in practice

I've been going to Dr. Baumal for several years and have received the highest quality care. Very grateful for her and for the excellent staff at this facility. Sometimes there is a wait but these doctors and techs are extremely thorough, talented and committed to their work. I feel like they care about my eyes more than I do. It's great to know I am in knowledgeable and caring hands.

They were great with my daughter, got us right in and she had her glasses within a week and a half. After that, she broke them accidentally and they were super quick and helpful with getting us a replacement.

Bad customer service!! When I try to make appointment for my eye, she asked me why I have to make appointment, after I told her reason she said that I just saw doctor 3 months ago, she just hanged up my call without saying anything, and I try to call back, and no one pick up the call.

Dr Hamrah has SAVED my overall health. I travel from Toronto to see him

They are the BEST. I travel from western NH to be treated by Dr. Hedges and Dr. Duker and have never been sorry.

I have been waiting 3 hours to see the doctor as my appointment was at 1:30pm. I will be finding another doctor.
