I hated reading the past two reviews. I have been seeing Dr. Ranz for many years and never had a problem. I usually bring a book just in case I have to wait, but normally wait a few minutes and am called back. Dr. Ranz's staff is knowledgeable, friendly and handle their duties quickly, but give me as much time as I need. Dr. Ranz is exactly what I needed when I moved to Murfreesboro in 1996. He has helped me with my dry eyes, cataracts and now pre-glaucoma. I'm grateful to have him and his staff taking care of my vision.

In the year I've been bringing my infant/toddler daughter here, we have had to wait up to two hours to be seen. And it messes with her every single time. First it was interrupted feds. I would make sure the appointment time was between bottles, but by time she would be seen, it was time to fed again. The last appointment was for 8:45 in the morning. It was 11:00 by time we were able to leave, interrupting nap time. Yes the doctor's time is important. But the patient's time is also important. No respect for the patient's time at all.

This place is a mess. I brought my mom to her appointment last month and after waiting around for an hour we had to just reschedule and leave (they said there was an emergency earlier in the day that had put them behind - yet didn’t bother to tell us when we came in). The next available date was a month and a half later. At today’s appointment my mom again had to wait over an hour past her appointment time. Now going on 2 hours and they aren’t finished yet, for a simple check-up. My mom is recovering from major surgery and has health issues. She had to ask what was happening after an hour - no one came in to check on her and no apology when she went out to ask. Unprofessional, disorganized (that’s an understatement), what a horrible medical practice. Vanderbilt should be ashamed.
