Dr Michel and his team are true professionals. I drove out from Palm springs, which is about 3 hours away and I will tell you, it was worth every second. I had pterygium removal surgery and it could not have gone any smoother. Setting up the appointment was seem less and his staff was instrumental in helping me with that. Dr Michel was very kind and calming throughout the entire process. He and his team are voted as the best in California and for good reason.

Dr Franz Michel removed my scar tissue (Pterygium Growth) in September 2012; the surgery was on my left eye which had already had the procedure by a different doctor in May 2006. The 2006 experience was horrible, but the experience with Dr Michel and his staff was great! He did a whole lot and he always took time to explain; never in a rush! He was more professional, and he is up to date with latest technologies and procedures. My recovery was quick and only with minor discomfort. If needed, I will definitely come back to see Dr. Michel and will recommend him wholeheartedly.

It's impossible to put in words how grateful I am to Dr. Michel and his staff for their heart felt, exceptional and professional care. After ignoring the pterygium in my left eye for a number of years I ended up blind in that eye. I could see shadows and vague forms, but could not walk across a room with just my left eye open. Plus I had developed a complex about how my eye looked and was avoiding social interactions. When I decided to have surgery I knew I needed to find a surgeon who had experience with pterygia. While there are many qualified eye surgeons in my area in Minnesota, they don't have a lot of experience with pterygia because of the low prevalence of pterygia in northern climates. A doctor colleague of mine had fortunately heard about Dr. Michel so I looked him up online. The rest is history. I traveled to his clinic in southern California and had the surgery, plus a few follow up visits. Now, five months later the vision in my left eye is almost as good as my right eye. And, my left eye looks like a normal eye. I am so relieved! Thank you! thank you! thank you! Dr. Michel and staff.
