My yearly checkup was a very pleasant experience. Making my appointment was easy and when I arrived I did not have to wait at all. I got my prescriptions updated and ordered new contacts. The optimistic was extremely knowledgeable and was happy to answer all my questions. They took time to explain my options and gave advice on things to watch out for in the future. I will certainly be back for subsequent checkups. Thanks!

I arrived for my appointment the lady at the desk was fairly rude. During my appointment it was a video eye appointment…. I received a call a week later to get my contact trials, after showing up to pick them up, the lady processed my payment but would NOT give me my contact lenses. She proceeded to say I had to have a doctor look at them on my eyes before being able to wear them. AGAIN, she took my payment but refused to give me my contact trials. While looking around for glasses, I felt very rushed. Honestly WORST eye care place I have been to. I will never go here again.

I waited quite sometime before I wrote my review due to circumstances beyond my control. The staff there is totally knowledgeable in what needs to happen. They are very friendly. The tech who assisted me with glasses did a pair of industrials for my eyes. This is the first year in 10 years I have NOT had to take off my glasses to see my computer. And the first time in a very long time I have not had a headache from my computer. If you are having trouble like I was? THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!! I will be in soon for another pair and to update if needed the pair I have.

I went in on Saturday morning for an appointment there was only one lady working however it was wonderful and everything went smoothly :) She was patient and helped me pick out frames and throughly explained what the process to get contacts would be like. If your looking for a new clinic I definitely recommend going there ! !

I do not recommend this eyeglass shop under any circumstances. In September of 2025 I went to the W Optical store located at 2425 Alpine Ave NW Grand Rapid MI. I was attended by a woman who took my information to get a medical prescription for glasses. I brought my own frames, and they said they would provide me with the lenses. Then two weeks later they called me that they had misplaced the frames I had given them for the new prescription. When I went to the store for options the manager, Maria, said that the frames had turned up after all. She talked to me again about the process and highly recommended changing my prescription from bifocals to multifocal lenses. She told me that she guaranteed that everything was going to work. I trusted their recommendations, although the cost was extremely high, as I needed comfortable glasses that worked. She never told me about (or had me sign) any refund policy in case the prescription didn't work. Two weeks later they called me and I tried on the glasses which did not feel comfortable on my eyes, but the man who attended me told me to take them home to try for longer. I did it for a couple of days and the headache was terrible and I couldn't see when driving. I came back and the same man made some adjustments and told me try again, so I did it. However, after days it was not possible to continue with these glasses. I went back and talked to Maria who was in the store at the time. She insisted that I get another test done that I had to pay for at the store. I declined this request because by that time I realized that the service was not what I expected. After some back and forth, the manager Maria said that they would refund the money minus 30%, to which I agreed. However, so far 7 months later the money has not been returned to me. I have called and returned to the agency. I have sent messages and no one wants to answer me or give me an answer to my enquiry or refund. I find that the service offered to me as a client has been very negligent and unreliable. Buyer beware, there are plenty of other eyeglass companies around.

Very pissed about the entire appointment. The receptionist and assistant had No clue as to what I needed done, and I explained why I was there. Doctor did ok job, but gave me a full exam, which I didn't need as I had just new glasses less than 3 months ago. I came because issue with cloudiness in 1 eye, because dr.verdier told me this process part of my cataract process. And exam cost me $85. Never needed exam as I have dry eyes. Will be looking for new eye dr. Been going here for 8 years, and was happy til now. I feel the receptionist needed a knowledgeable helper, not 2 learners.

Very satisfied with the quality of service I received. The eye exam was thorough and the Optometrist professional and personable. There is a good selection of frames to choose from but no pressure to purchase from them. I received a courtesy call when my frames arrived and was quickly fitted when I picked them up. I do need a slight adjustment for a perfect fit but have been invited to come back at my convenience to have them adjusted. Very happy with W Optical!

The team here is great and very helpful. Their knowledge of product was great as well. Timing was fantastic. I got an appointment foe the same day I called, and had my new glasses sooner than two weeks. I'm very happy with the result of my consultation.

Very friendly and personable. Staff and doctor are very knowledgeable. I feel the pricing is competitive and fair, have a wide verity of frames in all price ranges. I went to get contacts for the first time and they taught me how to do them, also first pair was a little off after trying went back to follow up appointment and they readjusted and me another pair to try. Overall they are great and would recommend to everyone!!

It was my first time. It was terrible. The young woman had fake finger nails so long she couldnt type in my information correctly. The eye exam took a very long time. I order my glasses. It took over 3 weeks to get them and then the lences we made wrong. Young woman finally admitted she typed it in wrong. So another lens set was sent back in. Another 3 weeks waiting. Too many new people and training is not good. I will not go back there again.

After like a decade of neglecting to get new glasses and an eye exam, I recently went to W. Optical. I had a great experience and paid less for my glasses than expected.

I bought a Groupon for their soft contact lens exam. It was a great deal. I was happy to see they offer online scheduling, friendly & knowledgeable staff, great selection of frames and soft contact lenses at good prices, & they price match on their contacts. I will definitely be back.

I had an accident with my glasses. They ended up bent and unwearable. I stop in on a Friday morning and the tech was very eager to help. She was able to fix my glasses and put new nose pieces on my second pair. In a matter of a minutes I was good to go. Thank you W. Optical for a well trained employee.

The tech did not seem to know how to accurately operate the testing equipment and constantly referred to written instructions. On one of the tests she gave it her best guess. Please beware there is no actual optometrist prsent in this location. Apparently the tech was supposed to perform the exam and submit the results virtually! I had to leave eventually. I was not confident I was getting accurate results

The manager and the front office representative are all the same. I call to let them know how mad I was about the phone call I had earlier in the day. The manager hand the phone back over to the representative whom continue to debate on the claim and the service she was providing although I refused it. Waste resources head over to one of their location to just to be told the same thing I was explaining to the lady on the phone. 🙏 PLEASE care about your patient and not the money as you will receive as many client by the service you provide. You lost two customers that was handed to you.???? Think twice about the company you choose...do you want care or do you want CARELESS.

The most comprehensive eye exam I have ever had! I’ve been going to the ophthalmologist since I was 12 and have never had such a thorough and thoughtful exam. Staff was kind and incredibly helpful. I’ll will definitely be back and highly recommend the Meijer on Alpine location.
