Horrible place! Absolutely horrific! My husband was sent here by ambulance from Hershey, and we didn’t even know where to enter the building. Hershey had called ahead, but everyone seemed surprised to see him. Hershey did not want him to walk due to pressure in his eye, but this place had him walking all over. After doing a quick wellness check, we were put into an exam room. The doctor, Dr. Wong, came in after about an hour to check his eyes. She put three rounds of drops in both eyes. They stung, but she didn’t care. He wanted to take a minute between drops like Hershey had done, but she was in too big of a hurry. She then shined a light in his eye, yelling at him for not being able to keep it open and move it around for 10 minutes on end. After she left, we waited probably three hours in a freezing cold exam room. His vision kept getting worse. I decided to call Lancaster Retina Specialists, as Hershey had previously talked with them so they were aware of the situation. They told us he needed surgery that day, and they could get him in that afternoon for surgery. After another hour of waiting, we told the nurse we needed to speak with the doctor. It took a long time for her to come around, and once she did she was very hasty. I asked if surgery was scheduled, and she said no it was not any big deal. They wanted to admit him to the hospital, then have a team of doctors reevaluate him to decide when surgery may begin. I told her this was not going to work and we were leaving. She was astonished. I told her we needed our records and we were leaving. She kept trying to tell us to stay, by pointing out they were #6 in the country. I told her it wasn’t happening. We waited another 45 minutes for our records and went to Lancaster. We were welcomed into this office by the kindest people and were treated immediately with the utmost care. I would not recommend Wells unorganized chaos box to anyone.

If I could give a 0 I would. Waited over 6 hours with my husband who has metal fragments sticking out of his eye. Still hadn’t been seen. There was a man there since noon still waiting to be seen and I’m typing this at 1:20am. Staff was rude and short with anyone asking questions about when they would be seen as people had been there for over 12 hours. While I could see the nurses station when the door open and they are scrolling Netflix. Absolutely absurd. Hopefully I can find a hospital that has competent staff members as to what an emergency is and how to run an emergency room properly. You’d be better off trying to take your own eye out with a rusty spoon than to get any kind of help from Wills Eye.

The worst! They were unattentive, unprofessional, and too relaxed. The front desk was on her cell phone while the patients watched and waited. Arrived at 6:30p, it is now midnight, and still here, without any clue how much longer. The nurse came out and estimated an hour or more, but truly didn' t know. while my son's was.literally bleeding. You get some progress only when you complained. Horrible! Not again.
