Heed all of the reviews about mismanaged scheduling, long lead times to be seen, and very long wait times in-office. I scheduled my new patient appointment with about a 3 month wait. A few days before my appointment, an office manager called and said the doctor had a personal emergency and needed to reschedule. I was completely understanding and accommodating; I get that things come up! I was rescheduled to 2 weeks later, to an appointment at 8:45 AM. Upon arrival at the office, it was very clear they were somehow already way behind schedule based on the waiting room. I waited for ~40 mins and then was taken back to a room by a technician. After a few minutes with her I was sent to a dreaded second communal waiting area to wait for the doctor. Observing the office, it was pretty clear that the 1 doctor I was waiting for was quadruple booked across myself and a minimum of 3 other people. After a total of about 1 hour 20 mins, I had to give up and leave for work. The technician mentioned they had some emergencies that morning -- if there were emergencies and someone had called me to ask me to reschedule that would’ve been preferable vs sitting in the office for nothing. We went up to the receptionist to see about rescheduling me to the next available appointment.. in FEBRUARY. I decided not to bother, and look for a different practice. A few extra irritating elements of this experience are (1) the incessant text reminders to fill out paperwork ahead of your appointment to "save time" - which then lead to a basic webpage with nothing to fill out.... UNTIL they send a different text message 20 mins before the appointment saying to "check in now." They had 3 months to send this, why wait until I'm literally driving to the office for my appointment? (2) Since scheduling my new patient appointment, I've received weekly marketing emails advertising their cosmetic services... its crystal clear these physicians are already inundated with the patients they have who need medical care, maybe don't try to push a new revenue stream. (3) I was charged for the visit upfront, which they said they will reverse... so we'll see if that becomes another hassle to deal with. If you’re a person who works, a person who has any sort of schedule to adhere to, or simply a person who doesn’t enjoy wasting time, I’d avoid this place.

I’d give 10 stars if I could. I saw Tracey McKinzie, PA-C at Wilmington Eye where my doctor had referred me. She was beyond kind and incredibly compassionate. I was impressed by her knowledge and expertise for the entire process and would recommend her to anyone. Everything was thoughtfully explained and the entire staff was fantastic. I wish I could remember the name of the assistant that came in as well because she was absolutely fantastic as well.
