I can not say enough good things about Dr. Zagelbaum. My family has been using him for more than 20 years..... always concerned, explains everything that you need to know and will take the time to answer your questions. Office staff is helpful and friendly. If you are searching for an excellent Ophthalmologist look no further. Highly recommend Dr.Zagelbaum.

Dr Zagelbaum is a great, experienced, thorough eye doctor - both my 90 yo mother and I are very happy with him. poor reviews are old and more people with negative experiences post vs positive. doctors don’t have to be social. they have to be professional and good. i agree the dr sets the tone - the staff is nice but there to do a job and not overly enthusiastic shall we say. but they are not rude. Dr Z and his team always give very thorough exams, found potential issues to watch that no other optometrist found and the more often you go, the better relationship you build. i just want the best care for my eyes - and i feel i get that here.

Bruce Zagelbaum is the epitome of poor professionalism in the ophthalmology field. Save your time and your money - do not come here. I was unfortunately misled by doctors who know him for his professional resume, but not for how he actually treats his patients. His staff has also been nothing but rude and unkind each time I visit. Learn from my mistakes.

Dr. Zagelbaum is an excellent doctor. I was given a very thorough eye exam and discovered I had certain eye issues. He explained everything so clearly, made sure I knew what symptoms to look out for and eased my fears. He is patient, kind and one of the best in the field.

If I could give Dr. Zagelbaum zero stars, I would. Please, if you value professional, courteous, and polite staff, DO NOT go here. Dr. Zagelbaum leads by example and is rude, rushed, and unhelpful in his explanations. His staff is also curt on the phone and does not make you feel welcomed. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Words can't describe how caring and how amazing Dr Zagelbaum is. He really goes above and beyond to answer any questions you have and to make sure he gets to the bottom of any issues you have. I been seeing him to monitor my freckles behind the eye and to control the blepharitis im dealing with. He truly cares and by far is the best eye dr on Long Island! Its important to go to someone who will go above and beyond to get you better!!!

Dr. Zagelbaum is professional and knowledgable. His staff are very friendly and nice too.

I have been a patient of Dr Zagelbaum for years, and I can say for someone who is not fond of going to any doctor, Dr Zagelbaum and his staff have always put me at ease by thoroughly explaining my ailments and clearly mapping out a plan to keep my eyes healthy. Having early onset cataract surgery and retina issues my last checkup with Dr. Zagelbaum revealed I still have my 20/20 vision thanx to the protocol of Dr Zagelbaum

Fantastic eye doctor! Answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. Staff is friendly and welcoming. This doctor has many years of experience and it shows in his care and medical advice. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for an eye doctor!

I had a visit this week with my eye doctor, Dr. Bruce Zagelbaum. Dr. Zagelbaum is a fantastic ophthalmologist. He’s not only highly skilled but also takes the time to ensure you feel comfortable, well cared for and understand what he’s doing and what your issues may be. His staff is wonderful also, they’re friendly, efficient, and they always try get you in quickly. What I appreciate is how thorough they are during each visit, while still making the experience pleasant and stress-free. I highly recommend Dr. Zabelbaum and his excellent team!

Dr. Zagelbaum is a true professional. An amazing surgeon. But more than that, he is kind , compassionate and really cares.

If I could give him no stars, I would. He is a pompous, conceited blowhard. Kept me waiting nearly 2 hours past my appt. time, talked down to me, and smirked the whole time. After keeping me waiting for HIM 2 hours, he told me the test I had been referred to him for was an hr long test and he'd do the first half now and the 2nd at another appt. because "I'm not going to have my girl stand there for 1/2 an hour waiting for the results of the 1st half." I said "I waited 2 hrs. for you. When I went to Optix, they did the test in 1 appt." He smirked and said "Well, do you want to go back to Optix?" Then he wanted to dialate my eyes for another test. I told him I drove myself there & had nobody to drive me home. He told me I could drive myself home. When I told him I've perception difficulties with this test and had been told to always have someone with me to drive, he said "All of my patients drive home afterwards." When he left the exam room to set up the test, I walked out to the front desk and asked to pay my copay so I could leave. They were astounded. They asked him and he told them there was no charge. You BET there was no charge. I should also mention I had called them from the road prior to the appt. to tell them I can't find parking , so I 'm not late , I just can't park yet. They answered the phone "NY Ophthalmology Please Hold" and put me on hold for over 10 minutes. They did this twice. I walked in the office with my phone still on hold and NOBODY was on the phone. They are AWFUL there. RUN AWAY.
