About the Provider
Ann M. Van Wie, OD FAAO, is an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, Emory University School of Medicine. She serves in the Vision & Optical Services in the section of Comprehensive Ophthalmology at Emory Eye Center.
Dr. Van Wie received her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed an ocular disease residency in Atlanta, and then served as staff optometrist and chief operating officer at the Northwest Eye Clinic in Minneapolis. Dr. Van Wie returned to Atlanta to join the Emory Eye Center in 2000. She is a board certified optometrist.
Dr. Van Wie provides comprehensive eye exams and prescribes glasses and contact lenses at The Emory Eye Center at St. Joes. She is also interested in the management of ocular manifestations of systemic disease, including hypertension and diabetes and providing follow-up for those having refractive surgery and cataract surgery.

Dr. Van Wie is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry. She has served on the Item Reviewer Committee of the American Board of Optometry. She also volunteers at The Good Samaritan Health Center in Atlanta, as well as the Clarkston Community Health Center.
