Christopher Engelman M.D. graduated with High Distinction in general scholarship from U.C. Berkeley and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society while attending Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduation from medical school, he completed his ophthalmology residency at Stanford University followed by a glaucoma fellowship at Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Glaucoma Society and the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. 

Dr. Engelman is an Assistant Professor (affiliated) of Ophthalmology at Stanford University School of Medicine where he enjoys teaching resident physicians the techniques required to perform cataract surgery as well as the management of glaucoma.  He is also actively involved with the investigation of new medical and surgical treatments for cataract and glaucoma, serving as a medical advisor for Atia Vision, Myra Vision and Keda technology.  

Outside of his medical practice, he enjoys spending time with his family, backpacking and reading fiction.
